Just now as I was chatting with a friend who had gone to cyprus for further study. I was surprised to see his long hair. I asked what was the cost of haircut there at Cyprus. He told 25 Euros. We have to say that is big amount. Because here we get our hair cut at 50 cents. Whats about this in your place...

you mean 50 US cents for a haircut? really cheap man. but here, in a nearby barber shop, the lowest price I saw for a regular haircut is around a little less than a US dollar.

I also keep my hair long before I cut it. I don't like very short hairs, and also can't keep very very long, it becomes messy. I keep it medium. May be about 2 inches shorter than yours at the picture.
Here we get a sort of free massage with 50 cents that is done at the end of the hair cut. And if I go to some qualitative parlors then it would also coast be about a dollar like yours.
Thank god we don't have to pay 25 Euros here hehe...
I hope you liked our new look....
Thanks for sharing...

I just had my hair cut short yesterday, cost me about 90 US cents. I think I know why some haircuts seem to be overpriced. I think it's because of the popularity of the salon/barbershop. Or the quality of the products and equipment used in the haircut, or any other incentives, like free shampoo (and conditioning maybe?), free massage, free shave, or free manicure and/or pedicure. Yes, those free stuff are not really needed, and turns out, they're not free after all, I think it's all included in the 25 pounds (or whatever) you spent on the haircut.

It depends on how much money you have in this country. It starts from 10 cents in the street and goes up to 30 dollars in a posh beauty saloon and anything in between in so many places. And there are millions of people who haven't seen a barber for years too.Strange .Isn't it?

Yeah it seems to be weird. And yes that really depends upon how much money do the country have. It seems that the developed countries have the higher price of haircut.
Thanks for your response...And also thanks for the image posting....;

Fifty cents...! Ha Haa...! It is much higher than the cost of haircut at my place! Now, in good shaloons (non air-conditioned) it is INR10 only that is $0.20 (twenty cents). But in air-conditioned shaloons it varies from INR20 ($0.40) to INR50 ($1.00). But my preference is INR10 that is twenty cents! This is perhaps because of the more number of people per shaloon in a day coming for hair cut! In Sundays, there remains a good rush of four to five people sitting in a queue to have a haircut and about an hour is spent just foe waiting!
Thanks for this nice posting and have a good day and nice haircut also!!

Hello Mitra!!!
Well I am from Nepal, and here the price seems to be rising because of the rise in price in many things, the barbers also raised their price and that's why it reached 50 cents. Else it was less always. But if I go at the parlor it will be more expensive and advanced.
Hehe...Yes it seems that you are doing it in better price. There was a time when I used to trim my hair at Nepali Rs 5. That was long ago about 10 years ago. Lot has changed now. And yes, here too I have to sit in queue. Very few times, I get chance to cut my hair immediately after I reach. Else I have to wait for about half an hour in normal to get the turn. And on saturdays, it is more packed.
India and Nepal mostly the same. Well we are neighbors and it is definite to be same...
Hair cutting is Europe and even in the North America is expensive and therefore if people go there, they prefer to keep their hair longer than trimming it. And the people who don't understand it would think they, going abroad they started to be stylish hehe....

Hello friends !!!
This incident I would like to share..
Today as I was cutting my hair, which cost me Rs.30 (this was my 2nd shop as I refused the 1st one as it asked for Rs.40),for me it is also too costly (I am an engineer working in an MNC company ).Then came 2 boys of age 6-8 years. They wore school dress(poor children in India ware the same dress all the time in school ,home everywhere and wash it every week or may be months). The boys asked the salon owner the cost ........he said Rs.25.
Can you imagine a poor boy who wares a single dress that cost Rs.50 for a year has no option but to pay Rs.300(Rs.25 X 12 months) a year for cutting his hair.
Now the question comes can we do something........Yes

Haircut here in the Philippines is 50 pesos or almost a dollar. ^_^
I think 25 euro is too much just for a haircut maybe that's why he/she preferred to have his/her hair just grow long. ^_^

Well the price in Philippines is little more expensive than ours but still comparable and no incomparable like 25 euros. I think getting haircut in most part of the Europe is expensive...

In my country, you can choose what price you wanted for your haircut. If you want a junior barber you can pay fifty pesos (that's about one dollar) and if you want a senior expert you'll pay 100 pesos :) haha but some back alleys here in the Philippines can offer for as low as 20 pesos for a haircut. This is especially popular for boys. :)

Yeah, I got lot of response from Filipinos about the haircut. And 50 peso seems to be the price paid by most of the Filipinos isn't it. I think for girls, it can be expensive, here too girls goes to beauty parlors and get their haircut. I know that is expensive than us, but how much I don't know because I am not a girl hehe...For guys, there are local hair cut saloons. Boys can also go to the parlor and get their hair cut, but its expensive for the same sort of service..And which one do you choose. Do you choose the senior ones?
Thanks for the response..

Hello, nzalheart! Well, the cost of haircut here in the Philippines is from 40 to 50 pesos (around $1). But now, I never gone to a barber shop for a long time, my friend had learned to trim just by practice and he gives me a free haircut...

that is too costly, 25 euros i think would be equivalent to 1,500 pesos here in the philippines. you're right most of the saloon would just charge 50 pesos for hair cut.

I live in Spain and my hair is very long. In the hot weather, it also gets very dry, as I do a lot of swimming. I have a cut, scalp massage, deep conditioning treatment, end serum treatment and blow dry. It takes the hairdresser over an hour, and the conditioning treatment lasts for about 2 months, longer in winter. This costs me 20 euros, and it's worth every penny. A friend in England whose hair is the same length and has similar treatments pays £45, so I think I get a great deal.

I live in North Carolina, US. My hair is usually short, so at the haircutting place i usually just get a cut and sometimes a shampoo and its about $6.99-$15 depending on where i go. i wish my haircut was $0.50 i would get it cut all the time.

Hello TrvlArrngr!!!
I hope you have higher income than us, that's why it may be expensive. It seems that in the developed countries, hair cutting is relatively very much expensive. That makes people of all occupation tend to have the parallel living. If you pay 50 cents for the barbers, how will they be able to live there. But if you pay 10$ for the hair cut here for the barbers, then the barbers will be the richest people of our country. Every thing is about the economic structure....
Thanks for your response....

Hello bro!!! Welcome to the mylot world. I hope you will enjoy here!!!
So you have been cutting your hair in each 3 weeks time. That's so fast, I didn't know. I know your famous barber, you don't want to get your hair cut through other barber than him. Yes, before I could just give Rs 30 and escape they would say nothing, now they won't say it is ok. They take the whole 40 Rs now. Hope that don't raise to Rs 50 soon.
Yes service is service and we have to pay for the service, else don't get the service at all....
Keep posting...Happy mylotting...

But you should be warry of the fact that the inflation rates in each countries are different. :)

Hello diamia!!! I have to say 10 euros is still very expensive. May be this is because various country have various traditions and various economic structure.
How do you feel about the price, okay or too expensive? How frequently do you get your hair cut?
