I have recently taken internet connection at home. My isp is Reliance and I have got 2 months unlimited usage plan with the connection. So, I will not be paying anything for internet for 2 months! I have plans to buy a 5 GB plan that gives me 5 gb of data transfer in a month. it will cost me 1000 INR that is about $20. So, what about you people which plan are you using? How much does it cost you? Please share your experience.

I use Time Warner Cable and it costs me $33 a month. Not sure how that converts to INR. It's in a package plan, though, because I also get my phone and cable through them. It's a pretty good deal. My internet here is faster than my grandparents' internet and they pay about the same as us and theirs drops the internet once every half an hour or so for a couple of minutes.

That comes to around 1650 INR. Thanks for responding. By the way how much transfer rate do you get when you dowonload a file using that connection?

I'm not sure of the exact transfer rate. It's pretty fast, though. When I download things (like applications like toolbars and such) it generally never takes long than 1 minute. When I download things from like uTorrent and whatever it depends on the seeds, but those are pretty quick, too usually.

I recently took a Tata connection for the laptop in my office that cost me Rs 882 for unlimited usage for a month. I have not checked the cost at Reliance as yet and at that time since I needed a connection asap and the Tata showroom was closest to my office I opted for it. Have heard that the Hathway connection is good for those wanting a wired connection.
