would you rather be treated like a lady: shown as a pretty accessory, you husband always pays, you have no say in anything, you can own nothing, etc,or an equal: paying your own way, having a job, owning things, having your own opinions, etc?

depends on what way you were bought up. in some generations it is expected that the male pays for you when going out. even after marriage. though it is becoming acceptable for females to offer to pay sometimes or treat their partners/husbands. though sometimes i have offered to pay.

I would much rather be equal. I was for a while and now since we moved, I have been a stay home mom. It is very hard to regress. I feel like I have to ask to purchase things or that what I want does not matter. When I had my own job, I was more of a partner. Splitting the bills and responsbilities. I like it much better being an equal.

Yea I have a hard time being a stay home mom..I've been on my own for so many yrs and never had to ask for anything whether for me or my kids becuase i had my own money but since retiring its been a task for me I must admit...I love not working mind you and I love being home doing the homebody things but not having my own money is a killer for me..Thats why i like doin online things so much and ebay selling, that money is mine so if I want a new pair of shoes I go ahead and buy them....Not that my husband would say no mind you, i mean he pretty much gives us what we want provided we can afford it at the time or it isnt something crazy (like when I asked for that Lexus LX LOL even though I dont drive) but still not having my own money drives me nuts....

I believe in being equal, and treat my husband the way I would like to be treated, but sometimes my own opinions are still mine to own!

even if I didn't have a job, I would still be my husband's equal. If we have kids, and I am a stay at home mom, I am still contributing to our family's well-being. Money is not what makes people equal, although it certainly does seem that way in a lot of relationships.

I'm male, But i would like to share this discussion, I dont think majority of men would love the first choice, Only few men would like to treat the women as god and make themselves a donkey the woman can ride it to whatever place she wants. thanks for the opportunity to express myself.

it is no tlike that the way you portrayl to ask. i am also not working but it doesnot mean that i dont own anything or i am just a pretty accessory fo rmy husband. my husband give me respect, protection and money when evr and where ever i want. actually i am the one who dont want to go out and do job because i get everything what i needed, what else you want??
