Upon graduation,I recieved a job offer from a private enterprise, and what I applied for is SALES REPRESENTIVE.It is a,you know, quite challenging job,but the shortcoming is that I need to do overtime job now and then, sometimes I am so tired that could afford engery to take a shower.Today a friend of mine ask me whether I like to be a teacher or not,in a private training center, point is that the salary is much attractive than I have imagined ever, However I am not as interested in it as I am in my current job(athought it is exhausting), I even have planned what I am going to be and where I will be in five years when it is coming to my current job.I I choose to be a teacher, chances are that I will be a teacher forever, nothing new could happen in my career.Generally speaking, for a woman, a job with a good salary and without any extra exhaustion is a good choice, expecially when she is with a child. It is so hard for me to decide between the two..I have to say I am not good at decision making,Please give me some advice on this,I will reallllllly appreciate it...

Hi Sherry, welcome to mylot.
If you want security in life, I think the teaching will be great.
Being a teacher is not an easy job, as you need a lot of patience.
If you have the patience and like teaching, that would be great.
If you are tired all ready at the age of 22 with the job you have now, then I am afraid in the future, that will only get worse.
If you want to be there for your child and see your child grow up without being tired all the time, I would choose to be a teacher.
A good salary, you could give your child what he/she needs.
Sounds great to me. If I were you I would be a teacher.
But, it is of course your decision. Your choice. I am 43, and life is not easy. When you can find a stable life, take it. That is my advice.
Wishing you all the best.

hi~~thank you for your warm advice~~~
My father became a teacher when he was in your age.He feels good about his occupation while I hold the very opposite opinion as he is not as active and ambitious as he was, meantime,I can understand him just the way I do to you, life is definately easy, and a stable one is a blessing.but I just do not to say goodbye so early to my interests..

Maybe you can combine them???
But, you are right. When you feel you should follow your heart, then do so.
After all, you are still young. When you don't try you won't know.
I am only talking in a old women way. Because if I had to do it over again, I would so much want to have a stable job.
But, you are young and like you I wanted to follow my dreams.
I wish you luck, whatever you choose.

As you get older, you may want to have a less challenging job that pays well. You may soon get tired of having to do overtime work as a sales representative since it will only make you grow old faster. If you're good at sales, you may find it lucrative, but still tiresome. The teaching job, while it may be boring for you, may be attractive only if you're thinking of taking it easy and if you're older - as in ready to retire. You may want to give it a try as early as now just to see if it fits your personality. Who knows, you may even like it and take it. An opportunity like that may not come again. The fact that you're having a hard time deciding on it means that it is attractive to you at some level.

You can look for a new source of income that pays better than your sales rep job. One way is to go into business or invest in a reputable multi-level marketing company, since you seem to be the kind of person who go for challenges and it's really there that you can earn residual income in time and you'll no longer worry about money if you are successful.

thanks for your respondence..here is the peoblem,I like my current job,but it can not,at least now, offer me a big money to make my parents life easier,I do want to make my parents lead more comfortable life...teaching,for me,is not that attractive to me,however I can earn much more from it in order to optimize my parents' current life, wich will make me happier too.dose the motive sound right to you?

No one's going to be able to make this decision for you.
I would probably keep the teaching job, just because I'm sure teaching is a much better career than being a sales representative. You can most likely have more dignity & be more proud of yourself as a teacher than a sales rep. You're right, though - being in sales is definitely challenging, but remember that "challenging" isn't always a good thing. You should ENJOY what you're doing, and make that your priority while deciding. Do you ENJOY teaching?
If you worked in sales, too, you could have to be paid on commission, and it can be a very competitive job.
Your current job, to me, sounds more secure & enjoyable than a job in sales. This is just my personal opinion, though. Good luck deciding!

Thanks for your warm advice,it really helps a lot.
you are right, one should enjoy what he or she is doing, which I almost ignore..
what I am sure is that I will keep exciting on my way of being a sales manager,yeah....I am planning so.A teacher,I think, should be patient enough with students,I am not sure i can handle it..I am not sure I will enjoy teaching.

if you have enough savings for yourself and you really dont need that much money, i think get the job where you will be happy.
but if you consider the situation we are in now, the financial crisis, that teaching job would be just great. you can save more money for your future. once you have that savings, then you can go back to the job that will make you happy, resign from teaching. but did you know my mom is a teacher and her work never stops when she leaves her school. at home she makes lesson plans, compute grades for her students, sometimes she gets to be speaker and go anywhere... she has traveled the whole country just from being a speaker as a representative of their school. i have seen her a lot of times, with students coming to our house asking for advice on their personal lives. so teaching also is a big challenge. you dont just teach a certain subject at school, sometimes you mold a person's character, and affect their future.
but this is all up to you, you decide for yourself what you really want in life... more money for security reasons, or more challenge in life. only you can decide which job you are going to be in.
good luck, hope this helps.

lol..I have five banking cards from five banks, and~~~~~no savings in any of them..
Money is badly needed, while excitement from work is more precious,I think. After reading your comments,I guess teaching dose not match with my character ,I have no idea whether I will be a good teacher.I think yiur mon is a great teacher. My father is a teacher, too and he is quite satisfied with his job,you know what, there are on more than forty students there, but teachers amount to twenty,so he is free from presures~~

Well,it is hard to decide under that situation. I did a part-time job as a sales representive of a magazine two years ago ,which did exhausted me to some extent. That kind of career is stressful as well as challenging. I tried my best in that job and achieved excellent results. However, I guess I won't do that kind of job again, because of the energy and stamina it requires.
I am not suggesting that you should also give up your current career. We are under quite different situations.I am still a student, which means my first priority is study.
In my opinion,If you do like your current job and see a big picture in the future, just stick to it as long as you have passion in it. Pursue your dream when you are young, don't leave regrets in your life. If one day ,you feel tired and want a more stable and peaceful life, you can still change your career if you want.Right?

As life is struggle. To be success on life human should succeed on the struggle. The type of job to be good salary & great challage depends upon the person. Just like if you want to take risk for not. It will high gain on challanging jobs. and it also depends upon the other sources of income you have. Suppose as you have another source of income then i will be back force for you as you cannot adjust with the job you can leave it on the case of you do not have another source of income it will be difficult for you. To develop & enhance your career i think challenging job is better from which you can learn more things, i have seen been on taking challenging have developed their career rapidly than sticking on same job
I suggest you to self evaluate yourself your weak & strength on whether you have courage to face challenges

well if that offer is when i was a fresh graduate yes i will do accept the offer because thats my very dream before to find a good job with a good pay. but for now, no more! why? i promised and i prayed not to employment anymore. because nothing will happen to me if ill stick to employment. its better to go out and find an opportunities for me to grow as an individual and earn more than from a salary that im going to received from the company, that i can own my time, manage as well.

When it comes to jobs or careers I believe you should choose the one that you love to do. This will keep you from becoming bored with it later and maybe if you are not bored you will keep the position for a longer period of time. If you are happy in your job that will transfer over to other aspects of your life as well.
