How do you pick the best response?

Here in myLot discussions, as the one who started the discussion, you have the privilege to mark a response as the best response. When given best response that luck myLotter might make more than others whose response were not marked as the best response.
I want to know how do mylotters here choose the best response, if you mark a response too early there might be better response; but if you just kept waiting, if your discussion was not attractive enough.....
What a paradox!
Here i want to share my solution for marking a best response, and i don't know if my solution violates the rules here, if so please let me know and i will stop that immediately.
Solution for choosing the best response:
* This kinda of choosing method is just for fun.
* Set a deadline before you begin to choose a best response.
1. If your discussion gets less than 10 replies, just choose the best response which give you some inspiration, if the replies can't make any sense to you, you can just randomly pick one you can do that with a dice or whatever.
2. If your discussion gets more than 20 responses, just see how many responses you get, e.g: if your discussion gets 25 responses, and than minus 20 from 25, so the best response goes to the 5th response.
I want to hear from other mylotters, any comments on my solution? Or do you have any good ideas to share?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Kianli,
This is a problem I faced while I was a new comer here. I found that I got a few responses and I was thrilled. I chose a best response within an hour. But after choosing I realized that I was too early in making the decision.
Imagine you wrote a very good response and a user chooses a best one just before you post it! And that too according to your creative ideas. It might hurt. If not you, surely me!
To solve the problem I checked the best place to find all the solutions of mylot: The Faq!
FAQ says:
-wait for at least one week before choosing a best response.
-Read through every response thoroughly and pick the one which informed you the best.
And in my opinion, as guided by some experienced users, I learned that if a discussion is a single solution seeking one. And everyone has responded such that they gave you all necesary details, you can select the first response that provided you the answer.

Well, I didn't check the FAQ part carefully as you did.
But sometimes one week is not enough, if the mylotter who post the discussion wants his/her discussion to be more heated. Take this discussion as an example i did hope i could get as more responses as possible, but after 2 weeks it seems like people don't have interested in it or just this discussion is still waiting for more myLotters.
Thank you so much for the information.
Have a nice day and enjoy myLotting!

Yes.
Sometimes we never get enough responses as we thought we would. That's because, people are scared that this discussion would get deleted. If the discussion gets deleted, they will lose their post and money. So they do not risk it. I risked it because I couldn't bear to see a mylotter in trouble. I can here for elping you. And I am happy to see that you have gained.

Personally for me, when I am handing out the Best Response to someone, I usually will read thru the responses and a lot of times also comment back to them. Then I will choose usually from the response that best fits the discussion concerning what I was talking about in there as well. If there is not one yet that I think fits, I try to respond back to see if I will be more responses back to that as well.

Yes, but reading all the responses seems to be a little bit hard to some extend.
For example, if you have a post which gets over 50 responses, that will be a hard job, and it will definitely take much time.
That's why i say it's a paradox.
Thank you so much for the response and have a nice day!

I like to pick a best for some of my discussions, but others I kind of just let it go and see how many responses I get before deciding if any are really great. I usually pick a best reponse by deciding if the person really had interest in my question and writes at least 7 or 8 lines as a response. The response also has to be on track with the question. If I get a response that makes me laugh, i will often pick that as a best response, too. I come to mylot for fun and information, so I like it when people amuse me in some way.
Have a great day!

This is a really good suggestion!
If you can get a response as the one you described here, which will make you laugh, that's definitely the best response.
Some myLotters here they aim simply at the payment and the responses to the discussion don't even have anything related. This is also sad.
Thank you so much for sharing your opion.
Have a nice day and enjoy myLotting~
