My boy friend has a peculiar problem..Its strange to me as I sleep seconds after I hit the sack...On the other hand he finds it very difficult to sleep even after when he is really tired....He relates this problem to insomnia...
We are in a long distance relationship, so I always find that when we are together and we go to sleep, he sleeps soundly...and ironically I am the one who sleeps after him:-)))
I dont think its insomnia...but the problem is very strange to me...So if in case you know the possible reason behind this or if you are in a similar situation...pls share your viewpoint on this ....
Thanks in advance:-)

The mind is very subtle yet powerful. Sleep can be disturbed for any reason at all, and as a therapist, the first thing I recommend to my clients is that they stop being overly worried about it.
If your boyfriend sleeps each night, but doesn't fall asleep right away, he is probably OK. The mind will usually be kept busy with thoughts and things that a person has not resolved during the day, therefore sleep will be slow in coming. When the mind stops worrying, the person inevitably falls asleep. When he is with you, he is probably more relaxed and doesn't worry about things.
If it is very worrying, then it is probably a good idea to book an appointment with a therapist who can help him through the phase. I (and anyone else), can write words on this page, but there is nothing better than consulting with someone face to face and sorting it out. - Derek

Okay I have also had this problem and usually when people have a tough time getting to sleep even if they had a long active day. Your body may become very tired but yet your mind has not. Now that your body has relaxed your mind begins to pull you into overdrive.
