Has anyone actually caught them all?

Hey Mylotters:)
Ive played Pokemon before and the amount of Pokemon you can catch is crazy due to the fact that some of the Pokemon are only on one of the games and vice-versa.
So I'm wondering if anyone has collected all the Pokemon that there are in the latest version that's on the Nintendo DS.
There are 493 Pokemon all together, have you caught them all?

Well, i came close on my silver version. I caught 256 pokemon of the 288 i think that we should catch. I'm still pretty happy with that game becouase i got 11 level 100's on it ^^.
Btw, what happens after u catch all the pokemon? Anything special?

256 out of 258 on the silver version is pretty good going and to have 11 level 100,s is a pretty good achievement too
At the moment on the platinum version ive only seen about half of them but I'm quite happy cause i got well only 1 level 100 but hes a Weavile so hes pretty awesome! lol

Despite 10 years of playing I've never once completed a pokedex for any game from Yellow to Diamond.

And that just happens to be the thing that I lack: People to trade with. If it wasn't for that, I probably could catch all of them.

I did in the original version. I had yellow version, my sister had blue and my friend red so we traded. I still have save game with all 150 Pokemon.
I still love original version but I dislike new Pokemon (hate the design etc), so I'm not going to play it. If you ask me, there are only 151 Pokemon :P

Even getting all of the Pokemon was hard on the earlier versions but you maneged to do it and that's something i didn't do. So well done:)
I always think that to myself that really there are only 151 Pokemon as it seemed like they ran out of ideas for new Pokemon.
I'm wondering how many more Pokemon are they going to invent!! lol

I am in the same sort of situation as 'Bionicman', however me and a few friends when we were younger not only completed red yellow and blue, but also gold and silver. I think these days the pokemon series is too riddled with 'Japanese only pokemon' and 'Nintendo event pokemon' that it makes it close to impossible to catch all of them without using the help of cheating devices.
