So i was wondering if you would offer your advice on my weight gain with this pregnancy. its my first pregnancy- sort of... Right before I got pregnant I had a miscarriage and i had already gained in my breats. Then I had the miscarriage and gained about 5-10 lbs due to depression i guess you could say. Well.. When i went in for my post MC appt I was PREGNANT again. 6 weeks pregnant so my doc was counting my prepregnancy weight at 166lbs- that includes the weight gained from depression and breast tissue/blood increase from the first pregnancy. Im 20 years old, 5' 7". and have an atheletic build. As of right now im 28 weeks pregnant and weigh 193 lbs. Do you think ive gained to much??? for the past month ive been doing really good, even my husband thinks so. Ive been going walking everymorning for 15-30mins, then instead of driving to the mailbox i walk- and i go the long way around housing, as well as I try to go for an evening walk with him after dinner. I also try to get to the gym atleast once a week to run on the elliptical. I crave milk, and cereal. I eat all of my food groups, read labels and avoid most junk food except for my weakness* icecream* every now and then...going from 166 to 193 already at 28 wks. IS that bad??? what do you think? and PLEASE be honest! Thank you

I dont think that is bad at all. Every pregnacy is different. When I was pregnant with my girls I only gained maybe 20 pounds each time. This time around (3rd pregnacny) I have already gained 37 pounds at 34 weeks. My doctors told me that everything is fine, baby is healthy and I have no health issues either. Just keep doing what your OB says and dont stress anything. Your doing just fine.

Thank you for the kind words. I try not to stress about it very much, granted sometimes its easier said than done :). Its really hard for me to accept the weight gain somedays mainly due to the fact that ive always been so conscience of my weight. Ive never been harsh to my body to say no to cravings but if i ate like a pig id go work out and make sure id work off those extra calories. but now that im pregnant hardcore exercise really isnt an option, considering its not good for me or baby since your body works twice as hard at rest as is trying to pump blood! I will do my best with trying to maintain a healthy body, not just for myself but for my son as well! Are there any exercises that you do that you feel have helped? I hope i dont hit the 200lb mark. I will probably CRY! ! ! Thanks. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! !

Your very welcome. I used to do the same thing as well, work out in some kind of way to burn the extra calories. As for being pregnant to maintain a healthy weight is I walk every day. The doctor says as long as I dont over do it it's okay. I walk about a mile and a half once a day at a steady but slow pace. I usually walk with my other children so that goes kind of slow. lol. Thank you and I hope you have good luck with the rest of your pregnancy as well.

Try not to worry about your weight too much.I have had six children and the only time i was worried throught was when they kept saying the baby was very small all the way through the pregnancy. If you worry about your size too much it will cause you and your baby stress which can cause other problems like high blood pressure. If you feel ill then worry.Good luck with the pregnancy.

Doctors say you should gain about 20 lbs when you are pregnant, I was pregnant with triplets and was told to gain 100 lbs, I did not even come close, but my high risk doctor said that that is a guide line, the 20 lbs, and it is advised so that labor is not so hard on you, the more you gain the harder labor is or something like that. So do not stress to much about it, as stress is not good for the baby either. Just keep doing what you are doing and hang in there.
