Did you ever steal anything from your parents?

When I was a kid I used to steal batteries to run my cars... even though I am a girl electronics thrilled me! I also stole pieces of bubble gum (remember they wer lie a penny a piece back then!) from the store, not usually bigger things.
Occasionally I would find change laying around the house and would steal some of it. A time or two I took money out of my mom's purse when she wasn't around.
Did you ever steal from your parents?

I can remember being about 7 or 8 and taking money for the ice cream man. It makes me sick to think about it. My mom never found out.

Yeah, I have a few of those moments myself. I wish I knew who and where they were so that I could make amends... I know God forgives, and probably the person doesn't even remember the incident.. but somehow it would feel better to "put it back"!

I have taken change of my mothers dresser for the corner store. If I told my mother that I did she would'nt believe me

To be honest, YES. I used to steal from my parents when I was young. I would always steal coins because if I asked her she wouldn't give me one so the "best way" I thought about that time was to steal it.
However, as I grew older, I soon realized it was wrong. My teacher told me that doing things like that is like being a "thief"---a thief's way of thinking is below borderline, or what what we call the "morons", because these people would always expect things and be dependent to others rather than doing things and standing up for their own. From then on, I learned the lesson and never dared to steal something from my parents or to anyone again.
Besides, as a God fearing person I believe God raised me to be honest and to live within my means that's why stealing from now on really scares me and degrades my dignity because of what the teacher told me. Even stealing 'coins' scares me now because I believe I have my own life direction and I just don't want to be dependent to others only for money.
My mom caught me stealing that time, and after that I really never dared try again. It is better to just be patient if you didn't get what you want than to get it by wrong means. This lesson taught me a lot about dignity, contentment, humility and Godliness.

Awesome! Sounds like you had some very good teachers in your younger life!! Those are invaluable. It is interesting how usually as children, ourselves included, we steal things. There are too many people who grow up to continue those evil ways because they didn't have positive, godly people in their lives to help them learn the difference from right and wrong!
I'm glad it turned out to be great life lessons for you! Thanks for sharing!

When I was a kid, I did the same thing... money, that what I took. food, candy or other stuff I had all but money to buy the thing I wanted, I didn't have it so I had to take it. Mostly, I asked for it and if they didn't give me and I really needed it then I would steal right after they left the room.
