The Bible says that God created man in His image so God is definitely male. In the Bible He is always reffered to as a male entity.

well, if you read the Bible, and completely believe it then God would be a Male.... because Adam was created, then Eve was created from Adam..... However, with that said.... I agree with you.... I believe that God is more than a Male or Female... I believe he is the Ultimate being..... Which... being female.. I believe that we have alot of great features.... and men too have great features... I believe that God is the best thats in each and every person..... some have great technical skills,, some have great spiritual skills,, some have great math skills,, some are great with art.... some are just great people persons... then some are great with animals.... I believe that God is all of those, combined and a whole lot more.

Why should God need a gender, since He/She has nothing to mate with?

Since God isn't a human, He doesn't really have a gender. God is usually portrayed as a loving father, but He is really just a being, not human. So that pretty much means he doesn't have a gender.
