I understand that people need to make a living. I don't really totally hate those door to door sales agent. But their scam tactics really makes me dislike them.
One day, my father open the door to a sales agent who tried to sale us security alarm system. They told us that we been selected to have a free alarm system, and totally free. I just had skeptical question on how it gonna be free for us? After several questioning, they revealed that we have to pay the installation fee about $89.00. And they keep on pushing us to sign the subscription paper. We just rejected their offer. I don't like that they kept on saying it is free, at the end, you have to pay eventually. No thanks, not interest it this time.

i am telemarketer, everybody hates us. Because we really are pursuasive, most especially when were near our quota. I think door to door salesman are just like us, although its hard for them because they are facing the clients while us, were not that affected. I know where your coming from, i know sometimes were insensitive but i just hope that people will understand our job.

I understand that it is a job, but when the seller is misleading people, I sometimes feel like it's ok to be insensitive. I try my best to NOT be insensitive though. I just had a call today from my bank trying to get me to sign up for some rewards program. I said "No thanks, I'm not interested". But the man just kept going and said it would be free for sixty days. So I said, "No thanks, I'm not interested at this time" and he said "Ok, I'll try again some other time". I was like No! please don't. I don't want that! It was really annoying.

yes we similar point of view especially the way they to stress to subscribe but some times I put bigger tolerance because I was a field worker also as Surveyor who visit door to door to get any opinions and other data. direct MLM is more unconvenience also because they usually high price products and for secondary consumer goods, they take advantage to relationsship / relative markets such as family, good friends, even sometimes among boss and their subordinates. I registered to several MLM direct selling just because friendship or family relations and never be a real seller, I dont know I do not dare to ask strongly someone to sign for subscribe as membershp. perhaps I was too much hear my friends compaling to this kind of MLM way to sell.

People really need to make a living, But I prefer that he did tell you straight that you all have to pay for the installation fee, instead of telling you that the alarm is totally free.

hello clorissa,i also experience what you've been thru.one sunday morning these sales agent knocks our door offering us to apply thier promo period on power saver machine.they told us its free and we only have to sign and comply some requirements.they say,if we buy the machine in thier office it costs 14,000 in peso(im from the phil.)but if we sign the promo paper its free,im wondering why its free while its soo expensive outside? i ask them, how's that gonna be,ur giving us free while its for sale in your office,hhhhmm...if we sign the promo paper they will let us pay half of it..hahahha! then its not free anymore.good thing we did not sign it whew!that's their way of fooling us,different tactics..telling us its free, and in the end they'll ask for amounts to pay... :) silly people.

we actually haven't had many in the last 15 years..just the jehovah's witnesses.
i think a lot of people in my area have switched to online sales instead, even the girl scouts.
i do wish the fuller brush people still came by.hard to find good floor brushes anymore.

Hi there Clorissa!
I fully understand what you mean. I don't mind people who are selling their products door-to-door but being misled is something that no one likes. I think I just grew accustomed to such things and the belief that nothing comes for free that whenever one offers me something for free especially sales people, I am always skeptical and just say "No, thanks". in a way which shows that I meant business.

That what we call marketing... they are good with that, that's why they choose to do this job. Another thing they will get commission once you sign on their paper.
One old trick that I always do is, if I dont want to talk to them then I just say I dont speak english or I am not the person who make decision for this house or something like that... and if they keep on talking then you just keep saying, Thank you and No thank you , no thank you... I am sure, they will stop and move on to the next house

Oh I have never experienced them actually. I have seen them on TV though :-p I don't think I would even open the door actually because I just don't feel right to have strangers come into the house.

I don't even answer my door when someone rings my doorbell. People are always coming by selling stupid things like burnt DVDs. Someone came by the other day trying to say they would clean my carpet for free. There's always a catch.

These people annoy the hell out of me! They say everything is only like 10 dollars a year or something, but you have to pay so many fees you could buy the same thing at another store for a LESSER price! Also, I don't like when the kids knock at your door and say to donate or something.
