The only one who knows how to change out the empty toilet paper roll? Seriously?

It seems like no matter who's home we're at, the toilet paper roll is empty and I have to change it. What's the deal? Even at other people's homes! Sometimes the TP isn't close enough to reach while sitting on the toilet, like at my house, which can be a huge inconvenience. If I notice the roll is getting low, I'll put an extra roll down. Nine times out of ten, when I go back later, the old roll will be gone and the new roll will be used but it still hasn't been put on the holder. It isn't that hard! What is the problem? Am I the only one that goes thru this? Or the only one that gets annoyed by it? It seems like a minor thing, but how hard is it to change the roll out? Honestly?

OMG. I hate this, too. No one in my household knows how to that either. None of them also know how to recycle, how to NOT put the cereal box back if it's empty, how to change the trash, and so on. It gets REALLY old, so I know what you're going through. I'm living with a couple of roommates - and what I've started doing is putting post-it notes everywhere (and no one has moved them yet!) reminding people to do their part, especially with dishes & taking out the trash. It's sort-of working, anyway.

Its ironic to hear that but its true. I have spent some time together with my bf while we were travelling so we stayed in hotels. There was a time when the tissue roll was out of tissue paper, he didn't replace it. I asked him why, he said he don't know how to do it! He's a smart guy but in a simple thing like that, he seems to be not smart. Funny but true.

Apparently men think its no big deal. What bothers me more is occasionally when he does put it on is the way it rolls. I like it to roll from the top, and he always puts in on wrong. Is this rocket science?

I have my own tissue so I wont have to bother using the ones available in the toilet. In my case I always see it empty so I always have to bring my own. It's really easy but some people won't even take time to change it.

OMG! I have complained about this for so long at home and it seems that their brains can't comprehend how to change the roll. I even tried a game at our other house and paid a penny for anyone who changed the roll. They seemed to get it then, but when the money stopped they stopped. I also have a problem with glasses being left all over the house with part of a drink in them. That makes me crazy too!

You're not alone. I raised four kids and have had a couple of husbands and each and every one suffered from Fear of The TP Holder! It's got to be a serious, yet to be discovered disorder because I know a lot of other women who have family members just as afflicted as mine. I used to b*tch about it but nothing changed...I was still the only one brave enough to put the new roll on the holder and still am.

Yes, it happens to me often too. It doesn't happen much at other people's houses, but it happens at mine. I have to change it. My husband, changes it sometimes, but it seems like it's a job for me! Well, if it's at my mum's house and my mum has been in the bathroom before me, well I will NOT find the toilet roll out of place. She puts it there where it should be.

we are in the same situation then. here at home, nobody seems to know how to properly change the toilet paper roll. same thing happens when i usually find an empty roll in the holder with the new one already used nearby usually on top of the tank cover. i tried to tell them so many times that whoever used the last piece of the roll should be the one to replace it with a new one. it would only take a minute or two.

OMG, I so could've written this post myself. It seems that I am always the one to change the tp. It got so bad a while back that I would check for tp before I even started going. I wonder what are they thinking when they start on the new roll without changing it?

I experience this alot at home. Under no circumstances will anyone change the roll. There will be 4 little squares, and they will know very well that it needs changing, but they dont. It gets to the point where I play their own game. I leave that roll on there, and I take a new roll, take what I need from that, and put it back. Forcing them to change it, because they need it. I thought I was the only one
