Is Facebook really as great as people say it is

Im not the type of person to be up on the latest fads and all so I havent tried Facebook before. Do some of you vets have any major reasons why I should join or make my own Facebook? Thanks for any help I appreciate it!

I have had facebook and also other social networking websites and I have to say that I really like using facebook. It is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends. I have friends that have all moved, different states and even different countries. Facebook has made it so easy for me to send them messages and interact by commenting on their status messages and vice versa. Seeing their new pics and also being able to play games and have tons of applications to go through as well is also a great addition. Ctrich91, you can always try facebook and see if you like it. If you do that's great, if you don't you can always say you tried it. Hope this helps.

nope myspace is just as good, i prefer it because you can listen to music on there and design your own page layout.

i used to go on facebook but i deleted it since i got with my fiance. i never did get the hang of it as there is so much to do on there and i didnt really know where to start. i have recently been on it once because i wanted to try out a game on there that i must say is pretty addictive to say the least.

I think it is a nice place to keep in contact with frineds and family members who are away. It helps you to know updates from friends and send them messages. You can also upload your picutres. There are also options to block or give rights to different people on your profile according to your wish.
I like facebook and I think it is a great place for enttertainment, but I would prefer Orkut over facebook because I have lots of friends in Orkut and the website is more fancy looking.

i think that facebook is awesome it is great way to keep in touch with and update a whole bunch of people about what is going on in your life it is especially great if you move around a lot or have friends who live in different parts of the world. it is also a great way to find people that you have lost touch with and a great way to network. i recommend giving it a go, the worst that could happen is that you will not like it in which case you can simply take the page down. it is not a fun online community really unless you have friends with whom you can share stuff on it though.
