Do you ever name your pets after famous people or people you admire?

I have done this. My daddy gave me a dog one time that I named "Elvis", after Elvis Presley. I don't remember what kind he was exactly but he was a mixed breed. He was a solid white dog with a black eye and one big, black spot near his tail. I was probably about five or six years old, maybe younger, at the time. I loved this dog, though, and as you can guess, I really loved Elvis too, LOL . However, this dog was sick a lot. We had him put to sleep because he had mange. This was back in the 50s and there must not have been anything you could do for mange back then. At least, we didn't know anything about it at the time. I was told that he also acted mad but he never acted mad toward me. He must have acted mad toward other people. I played with this dog nevertheless. I've also had other animals that I named after people I admired. I was in the 4H club as a child and I raised calves. I had a calf one time that I named after Johnny Burnette. In case you don't know who he was, he was a singer back in the early 60s. He wasn't very well known but I plan to do a discussion on him one of these days. I really had a crush on him, though, as young as I was at the time. As some of you already know, I have a horse now that I have named "Cyrus", after Billy Ray Cyrus. I guess I'm silly, aren't I?
