i've always wanted to have a german shepherd ever since i was a child. but that breed is so expensive here... and even up to now i cant afford to buy one... i've researched the breed before and my thinking was right, they are intelligent dogs, they protect their loved ones / owners, and would do everything to keep them safe. they are used by blind people too as their guide. i want them sooo bad... lol it's my wish every christmas.. i have a labrador now, my second choice and it makes me NOT want to have a big dog again... but if i will be given a german shepherd, i'd happily accept it even if i know its a big dog breed.

Yeah German Shepherds are cute as well . . I had one myself before. He was very swift.. Unfortunately, someone stole him when I was out of town . . .

All dogs are great but huskies and sheperds are my favorite breeds. Really, I'd prefer to have a mixed breed then a pure bred but I am attracted to the wolf like appearance of the huskies and sheperds. They are very loyal and intelligent protective dogs. I've had huskies since I was a kid and always loved them. They like to talk sooo much...lol. Now I have a small husky mix with one blue eye and one brown. He's such a great dog! Very smart and loving. He's my best pal.

Huskies are great dogs but if you don't want a big dog don't get a husky. That's basically it in a nutshell. Huskies can get as large as 80lbs and you have to be able to train and control them like any dog, but Husky is a working breed. I too love the husky, but I would never own a full blood husky if I did not own a dog cart/sled etc. (I own one of each). My dogs both are "big dogs". I prefer the bigger breeds to the smaller breeds. Except for the smaller hounds...I think they are awesome. I grew up with a Beagle. But anything under 25lbs and I'm pretty much not interested unless its a working breed. I often wonder why people buy working breed dogs but don't let them work. Huskies are not just cute..they are capable of killing a polar bear all by themselves. That is part of what they were bred for..agility, strength, bravery, intelligence. They are one of the most loyal breeds, but also often a one person dog unless kids are around..they are great with kids when socialized young. If I could I would own about 15 of them...but alas no room..no room..the two we have are big, and we may add another to make a threesome team. But, more than that and we'd have no place for them to sleep let alone be able to feed that many. But Husky is definitely one of my favorites :)

I've got a German Shephard. He's very active and that's the way I like it !! He's intelligent, waits at the gate for me to get back from collage, accompanies me to the super market... And mind you, he's totally well behaved !!

I love Labs. they are the cutest puppies. They are extremely smart and very loyal. You couldn't have a better breed. They're so family friendly.
