Is our water cleaned?

Many said water that are from distilled or from sterilized or whatever chemicals are bad for health. Is it true? If so, what water will we use ? We don't have freash water to drink or to shower. Salty water makes our skin to dry and thirst our throat. Tap water is no longer cleaned anymore. What is your recommendation? Mine is boiling water before drinking in order to kill the bacteria. Kindly let me know your options. Thanks
