Fashion in Schools...Uniform or not...

It is seen that school going children are also keeping pace with the latest fashion trends. And it is one of the reasons that I thought about while joining MyLot. My students wear uniform during the regular classes. But it is during the extra classes/special classes that the express their passion for fashion. Some of the dresses are such that I can't help wondering were they came from. If we seem surprised they are more happy (they might be thinking well I have got noticed). Should such a trend be encouraged in schools.Or should school be a palace for reminding what is the more immediate necessity rather than clothes and other accessories. The other side of these trends is that Nowadays teachers too are trying to respond in the same manner. Some teachers dress themselves more like a model than a teacher. Some weird styles even hinder moving freely. From wherever these fashions come from. Dear MyLoter's my question to you is should fashion be restricted in schools? What do you think on the morality factor in some fashions?

i don't think there should be uniforms in school for any age. I think kids she be able to express there selves. and they would be able to make more friends with the same styles and taste as them. So they can have fun socially and still have a good education. I know if i had to wear a uniform then i would find a way to add my own little sense of fashion and flair.

Morality factor in fashions? Tell you what, your students will always find a way to get around it. I've done enough of that. My school required us to wear uniform. Very ugly, old-fashioned uniform. So what we do? Cut the skirt short, wear stockings long. I've never wear my suit even for assembly and I have my uniform dress edge just covering my pants. No rules will work. Youngster will make there fashion out of your regulations.

When my kids got the letter for the parents asking them if they want uniform or if they do not. I let my kids pick, because they are going to be the one to wear the clothing not me!. I have no preference whether it is uniform or not. I honestly think that they are other issues that are more concerning than wearing a uniform or not wearing a uniform.

It's related to their age.Teenagers are vigorous and interested in new things;no wonder why they are familia with fashion trends. It will be no use of schools' trying to be restricted on this issue. In the contrary, they will become more rebellious. Fashion is also an industry;we need an objective view on it.
