Last week, 12th class result was out, and the good news is that my niece had passed out with a whopping 96%. Apart from her studies, she is an all rounder girl, excellent in debate(had been the head girl of the school), good in singing, dancing and what not. I feel that these type of traits can take her to places. I've seen many people, getting excellent marks, but are not doing so well in their career graph. On the contrary, many people don't do well in their studies, but are highly successful in their life.
What do you think about the importance of getting good marks? Pleae share your opinions.

Well, I have not been in school for a long time now, and was never able to have any kids to worry about their Grades. But I do know that getting Good grades especially when one chooses to go to College and such after High School if a person cannot keep up their grades then sometimes they are forced to drop out of school as well.

It is always important for a child to have good marks to have a good future. With all the competition now in terms of employment, I think a child who has the better grade would be at an advantage. Making children understand that they need to study hard so that they would have a brighter future is very important. Because at the end of the day they will definitely benefit from all their hard work.

I do think that getting good grades is important. It means that you are learning the material. Although, I do know people who got bad grades because they never did the homework, but they knew the material.
I agree that grades isnt everything! I think a person's determination is the most important trait they can possess. If they are determined to do well in life, they probably will. If they lack motivation or goals, they probably wont get anywhere!
It sounds like your niece is a very hard working girl. It sounds like she has a lot of drive to do things with her life. Im sure she will probably be successful!

Before anything else, man, your niece's parents must be so lucky! Good grades are great, especially if a person is seeking for a purely professional, and an "under the radar" kind of job, but if that person doesn't have even enough street smarts and social skills, then there's the chances of getting employed will be lessened, depending on the desired occupation.
