For men, I like Federer. He is smooth, elegant, delicate shots and choice of shots and even his miracle shots are so good to watch. Accurate serve with pace. Love his personality also. He moves around the court that seemed so easy and I notice that he doesn't even run that hard. Well I'm sure he does, but like he certainly doesn't make it out like he runs at full pace or anything, whereas with some others you can actually see them running their hearts out. As for women, I like Serena Williams, she just shows a great amount of energy, determination, and sense of fight each time she step out on the court.

If you are talking about active players, it is Ana Ivanovic who has not been doing very well since she won the French Open last year. Historically my favorite women's player is Martina Hingis and men's player is Jimmy Connors.

Hi sureshgandhi, my favourite is Maria Sharapova. Apart from being a very tasty lady she is a talented and determined player. I love her really serious on court style and her contrasting friendly and nice manner away from it. A real competitor. She also dresses smartly unlike some of the other female players. I respect Federer as a person but find him and Nadal, whom I don't like at all, to be uninteresting in their playing styles. They are both however without doubt amongst the greatest players ever.

When I was a child with dreams of one day playing at Wimbledon, my favourite was Ken Rosewell, the wonderful Australian player. Sure, Rod Laver was the better player, but Rosewell had a grace, both in his game and his demeanour that always appealed to me. Then Bjorn Borg came along, the coolest dude on the circuit, with his long hair and the laid back Scandinavian attitude. The game was unorthodox, but boy was it effective and dominating. Then for a while no new faces really seemed to appear. Sure, some great players like Lendl and Sampras, but none with an attractive or exceptional personality. Then came along Federer, whose game is sublime. A bit too calm and collected, sometimes giving the impression that he is arrogant, but in reality very intelligent, polite, and gracious. Nadal of course has shaken things up with his physical game, intensity, and infectious personality. But in the end, Federer is my current favourite.
