Well, my half marathon training was moving along quite nicely until last Wednesday when I fell during my run. I twisted my left ankle and fell really hard on my right knee. I hit the left knee also, but it just got a little bruise. The right knee had to have four staples!
My knee is feeling better now. I am getting all the range of motion back. It was so bruised and swollen the doc did x-rays, but thankfully nothing was broken.
Now, my ankle is actually giving me more trouble than my knee. It didn't hurt at all Wednesday night, so I thought it was fine. It got pretty bad Thursady evening and has been sore ever since. It's a little swollen, but not bad. I reckon I just spranged it.
I go back this Thursday to have the staples removed, and if my ankle is still hurting I'll have the doc check it out. It seems to be a little better today, so I'm hoping for the best!

Ankle sprains can be very bad did you not have the doctor look at it when you went in the first time.
In November I sprained my ankle, every one thought it was just another sprain, well it was much more, turned out I broke a bone in the inside of my foot, had a grade three sprain on the outside and a grade two on the inside. I went for an MRI last week, turns out I tore my tendon in half, yes in half all the way down the middle, on the outside, and my ligaments are no longer attached to the bone, they are torn and stretched on both sides. I have to have surgery...
I suggest you do RICE for it. Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Do not walk on it unless you have to and soak in warm baths if you can. I would also call the doctor and have him look at it sooner than latter. Good Luck

I told them about the fall, but the doctor didn't look at my ankle because it wasn't swollen or anything that night. Everything with it started the next day.
Unfortunately, I don't have the money to go back between now and when I get the staples taken out. I have no health insurance. I haven't been walking on it alot, but have some. It's weird, but walking doesn't hurt. It only hurts if I hit a certain spot on the back of my ankle, or turn it to the left side. The swelling is on the outside left like I think it shows in your picture, but it's not as bad for me.
I'm so sorry your ankle was hurt that badly! I sure hope the surgery works and recovery isn't too bad on you.

My swelling got much worse than that, has your foot turned colors, as in black and blue? That is odd that the doctor did not look at your foot as well..
It could be that you just twisted it, trust me I could not walk on mine at all, Could not move it, touch it nothing and had to be on major pain pills for about a week. You would know if you hurt it that bad.
Just keep up with RICE

Glad to know you're okay and also that you got back up and are willing to keep trying. My wife and I are doing P90X right now and we are in the second month, we are going to see this thing through as well. Keep going.

I hope you get better soon!!
