It is very pity to say that most of the big players both Indian and International players flopped in this IPL 2. The prominent among them are:
Sachin Tendulkar
Sourav Ganguly
Mahinder Singh Dhoni
Kevin Pietersen
Rahul Dravid
Andrew Flintoff
Chris Gayle
The list goes on..........

Adam Gilchrist captained the winning team - a team that was awful last year. He must be judged as a great success.
Unfortunately, many Indian players have trouble when not playing in Asia. If they culd improve their performances on seaming pitches rather than the more spin orientated conditions that they favour, India would quickly overtake Australia as the best team in the world. There is certainly no shortage of talent.

yes the big players did fall to rise to the occasion although some like matthew hayden did play a big role.in the bowling our very own anil kumble played brilliantly leading with the ball as well as with his captaincy skills. the biggest failures i agree were flintoff though he played very few matches and kevin pietersen who were hyped a lot.i do not agree though that sachin tendulkar was a flop.just the youngsters could not carry on the momentum that he provided at the start a few times that he ended up on the losing side especially against deccan chargers.
