Hey mylotters,
You are not going to believe this but yesterday while I was outside tending to the front yard and trying to spruce things up for memorial day. A turtle came prancing by. He was walking inside the curb of the street and moving at a pace like he was really on a mission. I got so excited Citychic that I am, hee hee, I mean it's not everyday that I get to see a turtle. Anyhow my hubby picked him up and brought him into the driveway. There we took a few pictures of him then tried to give him some water. He didn't drink much of the water. So as we attempted to release him he went and crawled under the front wheel of my car. I told my hubby, he knows that we are good people. My Hubby said, that turtle don't know anything of a sort. Well I happen to think that turtles and other animals do have a sense about people to know whether we are good or not. What do you think? Have a turtle ever came to visit with you? If so what did you do with it? I'm going to post some pictures of it soon. You all can see all of it's beautiful colors. Thanks for reading this post, have a nice day everyone.

About three miles from my parents house there are scant houses, and an abundance of greenery. One of the houses has a man made pond near it. Every time I pass that house, I could almost promise someone they will see a turtle. I have seen good Samaritans stop their cars and move a turtle because it is in the middle of the road. I always feel happy when I see someone who cared enough to stop and make sure the turtle wouldn't be crushed by an oncoming car.

Oh wow, yeah that is truly amazing when you see that there are still people out in this world that care whether a helpless animal get hit by a car or not. I think it's the man made pond that's drawing the turtles, it's probably drawing snakes too. That's the reason we had to get rid of ours.

I do and we actually had a couple of turtles for a while but the bigger the tank the bigger they would get, so eventually I put them in a nearby pond and they are much happier, I'm sure. I also collect Betty Boop stuff. Go figure, my name isn't even Betty. :)

I haven't seen a "wild" turtle in years! When driving to West Virginia once there were a lot of turtles on the road. We tried not to hit them but it was fun looking back at them spinning around after we went over them! No harm done to the turtle, of course.

Turtles........
I know what you mean, I hadn't seen a wild one in years either. The first time that one came by our house we tried to keep it as a pet but that didn't last long because if I didn't take care of it then nobody else really seemed to be all that interested in it. So pretty soon I decided it would be best to just let him go. I guess that was the reason why I didn't try to keep the last one. Oh I'm so glad that you didn't hit the ones that were in West Va. That would have been terrible. Anyhow thanks for responding. Happy mylotting.

There were plenty of turtles in my neighborhood growing up! We used to play with box turtles whenever we had the chance! My neighbor even kept one as a pet for a long time under the porch!
Snapping turtles are also really cool, but they can get quite nasty.
I dont think turtles have any sense of good people or bad people. He was probably just scared! So he was hiding from you! Or perhaps he was just tired so he was looking for a shady place to rest.
Glad you had an exciting Memorial Day!

Turtle.............
Hello friend, thanks for your response. I'm just an animal lover at heart and I just like to think that they have feelings and can relate to human beings. I'm sure that dogs are probably the closest creature to being able to understand humans. Dogs and monkeys that is. But as for the turtle, well you are probably right. But i was just saying that they have some sense of people just to see what kind of response I would get from my hubbby, hee hee hee.Have fun mylotting!
