Okay now im just throwing this out there but when is enough sleep? I know the old saying is 8 hours is perfect but this isn't a perfect and there are times when even after 8 hours you still feel exhausted and tired? so how can one sleep enough to get enough energy back for the next time. ive been living on 5 hours of sleeps for the past few months and some days its more than enough others it's like nothing.

I think sleep depends on person to person, one person can survive on five hours asleep and still be fully functional throughout the day and not get tired, others need 9 sometimes 10, I think 8 hours is just an average and not everyone can live on 8 hours. For me 8 hours is not enough, I like my sleep, trouble is I could easily sleep 10, 11, 12 hours! What I do find lately is that when I do get up I feel that I haven't slept at all and I just want to turn over and sleep more even though I've slept for 8 hours. I could never last on 5 hours I would be a walking zombie!

My pleasure and oh I forgot to say Welcome to Mylot. You could always do an experiment if you can, to see how many hours is enough, by using a timer, one night have 5 hours, then 6, then 7 and so forth and record how you are during the day and then you could guage what is right for you!

Well, I've know a few people who would sleep for about 12 hours a day. and get up and be very active till it was time for the to start their routing over again. But, I had one friend who was suffering from severe depression, which started to make me questions whether or not he was still alive. I use to see him close to everyday till his depression got worse from him losing his job. Then one week he was sleeping for 12hours a day, then the next week it would be 18 hours a day, and after it got to the point that the only time he would get up from sleeping would be to eat and use the restroom. He seemed to be sleeping close to 22 to 23 hours a day, and he did this for about three months till he got his doctor to put him on some medicine. I don't know how he was able to stay awake long enough to schedule an appointment to see his doctor, but I can only imaging what life was like for him during those three months.
