Hello my lotters, I am a great sleeper everytime I can find time sleeping I will sleep immediately but I will only sleep with my favorite pillow but if I don't have it i can not easily sleep. But I have this friend of mine who really have her hard time of sleeping especially in day time. She has her 3rd shift and she can't sleep everytime she had this shift but she can't complain for she might loose her job. When she tries to sleep it is always a failure, but I was amazed she can survive for a week and after a week she is very thankful for the change shift. How about you can you sleep even though it is daytime? What are your preparations before sleeping?

Sometimes listening to music might help to get a good sleep.

Well i do not have special anything to have me sleep. Once my body touches the bed I usually sleep within 30 to 60 minutes of lying down. I guess sleeping is one of my weaknesses. Of course, there are things that make my sleeping hard to come by. That is when I am sleeping at a different place or not my own place that makes me hard to sleep in but I do sleep anyway it's just that it's hard to find your sleepiness because you are in a strange different place.

Before bedtime I have a whole routine to go through. I do Bible study, then take all 100 tablets, then I have to sit on the loo with a book for about 30min or more, then into bed. Sometimes my brain does not want to shut down and it takes for ever before falling asleep. I don't like to sleep during daytime but if I had a hard night, and I am off, I will take a nap. It is not always easy to sleep because I suffer from restless leg syndrome, and that keeps me awake. I do have meds for that now and it seems to work. Then I sometimes sleep while on dialysis. four hours is a long time and reading is not posible, I fall asleep if I try to read while on the machine. I usualy do some Mylot and then sleep for about 2hours. One feel so refresh if you get into bed at night and fall asleep easily, but when you toss and turn, the next morning you feel horroble. May you have happy nights, sleeping good and sweet dreams. Blessings

I'm one of those people who have a hard time sleeping, even at night! I know I could stay up for hours on end, tired, but I'm always doing something, so I don't tend to calm down. I'm always doing something, so it's hard for me to sleep because of that.

I'm an easy sleeper too, so I don't have any story about hard sleep problem, but my wife surely a had sleeper one, she often sleep very late at night almost everyday. She often get envy about me, because I have not problem about sleeping. She work at night, not really night though, she went to work at 6.00 pm and go home at 9.00 pm, may be that makes her become a hard night sleeper. When she's at home, sometimes I already sleeping, but she just can't sleep easily, so she use her time to reading, listening music, or even playing game on her phone after she's really tired then go to sleep.

I sometimes listen to radio FM when I am not able to sleep or read a book. Most times when I started reading after sometimes I fall to sleep. I think when a person feels tired he or she will fall into sleep. Sometimes listening to music helps to get a good sleep. I think night shift is one of the hardest shift. I had worked in night shift for around three years and never felt life was beautiful. I felt life was beautiful and got good sleep only after I changed my job.

i also dont sleep well. i seem not to get the deep sleep that is needed. what i would suggest is to go to a health food store and look into getting some melatonin. your body produces it naturally anyways, all you need is an extra boast of it.

I have sleeping abnormalities I think. Since, I work at night and I sleep during the day, chances of me having difficulty in sleeping comes to around 95%. There are weeks that I happen to just get 4 hours of sleep each day. I swear it isn't easy, it is not good on the inside, and your outside manifest it. You look lousy and you have difficulty in performing for your task within the day. Hence, my boyfriend advise me not to take anything with caffeine during the days that I have to sleep because of work. Drink more water, read good books, and pray. These really helps, if symptoms of difficulty in sleeping is somewhat alarming, better consult a doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I can sleep in the daytime or nighttime. I'm sometimes picky about pillows, but other times it's just a matter of having my fiance with me. Sometimes for both it's having his parents with us if we're in an unfamiliar place. I do have a fluffy pillow and enjoy that but can sleep with a non fluffy pillow as well. I usually wrap my arms around the pillow regardless, and I always toss and turn. If I am excited about something I find it hard to sleep the day before, or night before, but can usually manage to catch a few hours of sleep.

I used to have difficulty sleeping. I have experienced this for years, but only found out late January 2008 that it was because I had a Thyroid Disorder. For years, I didn't know that I had an overactive thyroid and one effect it had on me was difficulty sleeping. Before I used to sleep for just 3 or 4 hours each night. I'm lucky if I sleep for more than 4 hours. You can ask your friend to see an Endocrinologist so that the doctor can check if there's something with her Thyroid. If none, good for her. She can also go to hospitals that have Sleep Labs so that she may be observed. They'll really be able to help her. But basic stuff that she should remember so that she can sleep at night and on time, is to avoid drinks with Caffeine, soda included. Tell your friend to drink coffee in the morning. Come afternoon, let's say around 4PM, tell her not to take anything with Caffeine. Exercise will also help. So if she has time, ask her to engage in not-so-heavy physical activities. Exercise has helped me a lot. I have been sleeping well for the past months because of this. I can only imagine the troubles that your friend is going through.
