Do you have small children, a four year old can get a way from you so fast, she was in her home and I am certain that there were many people in the house that were there, she just got to playing, they thought she was safe. It happens, It happens all the time, it was an accident. No one was at fault in this accident. You can not watch your children 24 hours a day. I am sure they never thought that their child would get hurt so bad at home, no one thinks these things will happen, that is why we have to child proof our homes. I think that judging this family is the wrong thing to do, in stead we should learn from it and make changes in our own households in order to ensure that these accidents do not continue to occur. this weekend in Georgia a toddler pulled a TV down on top of her, the family was staying in a hotel at the time. The parents were right there when it occurred, the tv was not bolted down, why was the child climbing on the dresser? why did they not stop her, we can all ask a lot of questions and judge these parents as it is not us that are now spending their days and nights in the ICU waiting room. The hotel did not have the tv bolted down, the family assumed it was. Again this is an accident that was avoidable, and that we should all learn from. My heart goes out to this family, I hope that they will find some peace in their grief and maybe they can use their loss to help to educate others about safety of exercise equipment.
