I'm getting antsy here so I'll turn to my mylot friends. My daughter ran out of birth control about 2 month ago. She never had them refilled. Silly girl. Anyhow, she says she hasn't had a period since March 21, I think she's wrong, and I think she did have one in March, and I think she had one in April. I actually think she started April 21, maybe she's missing a month somewhere. Well, it's now the 26th of May and she has yet to have another period. She took a pregnancy test, one of the first response tests and it came back positive, but she has taken two more tests and they've came back both negative. I asked her this afternoon if she has any pregnancy symptoms and she said it takes her about an hour in the morning to get up and about where normally it doesn't take her but a few minutes. She says she has to let the nausea and stuff kind of wear down. And she says her upper half is tender and she said something else but don't remember what it was she said. So what do you guys think? Could it be stress? Why would one test come positive and two negative?

Oh dear, I guess it is a 50/50 possibility, I guess tests are not conclusive just as some birth controls are not 100%, we sometimes think we are cleverer than mother nature but we are not..well I hope things work out for your daughter...

I think she is.Well, that's only my guess but I really have the feeling that she's preggy cause if she doesn't why does she have the symptoms though two of the pregnancy tests are negative still you can't be rest assured that she's not. Also you said the she doesn't have her period since april. What I think you should do is to let her have a check up to a licensed doctor if she really is pregnant or not.

I guess it it quite possible for her to be pregnant. The only sure way for her to know however is for her to visit a doctor and to recieve a blood test. Urine tests can be wrong. She very well may have had a period or what she thought was a period. After becoming pregnant, women experience breakthrough bleeding which resembles a period but isn't quite one. So, she could be calculating the breakthrough bleeding.
However, because she is no longer taking birth control pills, she can be missing periods because her cycles are irregular now because she abruptly stopped the medication. The nausea can be a form of extreme PMS because he body is out of whack from missing cycles.
The most important thing she can do now is to see a doctor. It's the only way to be sure what is going on.

I would definatly get a doctors test. Id think that if she has had a positive test that it is probibly true. Atleast if you go and get a blood test you will know for sure. Is she taking prenatals and watching her diet like she might be pregnant? That would be my first concern.

Always a scarry time for you both! Go to the M.D. can't be sure until you break down and go. I don't know what your personal beliefs are, but; no matter what they are the longer you wait the less options and less time to prepare you have.
Good luck, take a deep breth, and keep us informed.

pregnancy tests are not always 100% true so i think that can account for the positive then negative. i think the best thing to do is either wait a few more days and do another test ( there are many tests out there that can tell very early on), or you could take her to the doctors. when i stopped taking the pill i didnt have a period for about 2 1/2 months so its not unheard of i think it really depends how long she has been on the pill for (the longer she has been on them the longer it will take to get out of her system) the symptoms she is experiencing could just be the pill getting out of her system as i had similar symptoms when i stopped mine (apart from the nausea). however i do think that the test should be able to show a true result by now unless she has just caught. it does sound more like she is pregnant than not. keep us updated though!! if she is congratulations and i hope things work out for you all either way
