Sometimes during the weekends when we go out to have fun with my friends.......few of them just stick to what they have every week........they don't want to have anything else apart from what they like.........to be honest i really love to experiment with food.......and not only stick to my local cuisine....... I have tried so many so far be it continental, oriental, Chinese, Thai, etc.......not all though but atleast some dishes from these cuisines.......and to add to my interest i am doing hotel management......so i get to cook and eat this during our practicals..... So how about you ????? Have you tried cuisines from around the globe or you are just restricted to what you always have?????

Hi John..and I like trying new dishes when I am out in a restaurant. My husband pretty much sticks to what he knows and like, but I like to expierement with what I eat. If you don't haw will you ever know if it is something you like or not? These people that are stuck in a rut and go to the same place all the time and eat the same thing all the time have no sense of adventure and lead a very boring life as far as I am concerned. After all the saying goes that variety is the soice of like does it not? flutterby

I think it is great to experiment once in a while with different dishes. One can also know which one is good and which one is bad.

I think it is good to make different dishes with the fruits and vegetables and not to mix artificial things. Fruits are really good for health.

I have tried different foods but not as many like you have. I really don't go out that mutch any more so it's mostly my own cooking but I like to try new thing when ever I can. I get bored when I eat similar foods so I have to try soemthing new. From restaurants I have had Oriental, Hawaian, Cuban, Mexican, and others and some really diferent thing like chocolat coverd crikets cow brains etc. I know somethings may sound nasty but you will never know if you don't try them.

Hi John, variety is the spice of life... I don't go out to restuarants much and here in my hometown we don't have too many choices. I do try whatever other things are availabe... some are realy good, but then there are same that requires some getting used to... It seems you are a big food lover and I suppose you can cook well... I am not much of a cook, only cook the basics. In fact, I don't like cooking, too lazy. Happy eating. Blessings

Hey John! Food for me is a passion. I love to try different cuisines. Giving variations to your taste buds is an exciting experience. Moreover, you get to study the taste of different cultures and regions. I really like being a critic at that. I try new places ,new cuisines and i make sure i have it again in some other place only to make sure that the taste is consistent so that i can pass my final verdict to friends. Because of this love for food, my friends often take food advice from me. Its really interesting to discover new tastes that can become your favourite forever. If it was not for regional outlets,we would not have been exposed to the concept of different kinds of food preparations. Some people feel they will not like what is new. But infact ,when they try something after getting familiar with the ingredients ,they realise , its the best thing they did. Sometimes during weekends when i'm really hungry and i want food which doesnt dissapoint me by any means; i go for my usual food. But when i'm out exploring, i make sure i try a new dish. I love to eat!!!

hey thats cool! Yeah, thai food is very much like the south indian preparations because of the use of coconut milk in gravies. I'm fond of idlis and dosas more than anything. I also like lemon rice. This week i tried Arabic cuisine which was jus terrific. I tried 5-6 different dishes at a arabic cuisine outlet here called as Bistro Grill. They cook amazing food characterised by unique cold dips which they give as starters. Must try!!!

I eat anything except for ones I really don't like. I don't eat tofu, for one. But I've eaten eel, frog, turtle, pork esophagus, pork and chicken intestines and a lot more. I have eaten a lot of things. I'm not that picky with food. I've tried Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Persian, Cambodian, Thai, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, and of course, American food. I go for comfort food when I feel bad but most of the time, I try different things each time.

I agree there are so many dishes which are not recommended for your body.......so one should definitely see what he is having before eating.....allergies can be really bad.......some pungent dishes are to be avoided while having an injury..... have a nice day!!!!!

I have tried pretty much every food there is to try, and I mean that! What I eat now though is fairly restricted in relation to all the food in the world, as there are only certain foods available in my town. When I am on holiday though, I will try whatever local food there is to offer- and more often than not, I will enjoy it! I think life's too short not to try everything that is offered to you. You should grasp the moment when it arises, and take every opportunity you can.

When my family and my family friends go out not particularly for weekends but in the week days also... we first lets to know that what is the special for that day on that restaurant.. after that we will go for our interested dishes... Some times we very particularly go for a variety and new dishes which we never tasted... I particularly never stick to one particular kind of dishes... but one thing is true if there is any dishes which were prepared by my mom then all the tasty food I likes to eat in restaurant seems to be tasteless. So, I am very much restricted for my MOM's food..... and what about you.......
• India
28 May 09
Yo are right sometimes monotonous pattern of our food can make food little boring......not that our moms don't cook well.......its just that our taste buds don't experience the difference anymore........if the same food is had by our friends they would say it is finger licking good......And our moms would then say......"see they like my food"........ So i feel once in a while eating out can break the monotony..... Thanks for the response........

I experiment with different cuisines. It keeps life interesting. It is fun to meet friends who like to cook old family recipes from their heritage.

Actually I like to experiment with new preparations. But I like to know the ingredients before trying. There may be something I am not able to understand just by name.

When my family and friends go out to spend some time for getting relaxed our minds by making fun and spending time to share our feelings.... the most of times we used to go to a restaurant... first we lets to know that what are the special dishes on that day... most often we will go for the food we regularly likes... and at the same time we mostly vote for tasting even one new dish... if it is really tasty then we add it to our interested menu.... But one thing is true that when there is dishes which were prepared by my MOM then all the dishes which I likes most seems to be tasteless... So, what about you my dear friends......
