Contact lens,spectacles,which one would you prefer to use?

I have had myopia for nearly 7 or 8 years.During these years I always use a pair of glasses.But several months ago I changed to contact lens,since it will protect my eyes from being deformed.
I've heard that it does harm to eyes severely.
What do you think?

Well i prefer to use specs and i hardly see without it yea .
