Do you think the Bible was written by the holy men to save us or by the Devil to keep us divided?

I believe that the Bible is the Word of God, breathed through normal people that became extraordinary because of their faith in God. This is exactly what the Bible says about itself. I am surprised that anyone would be convinced that the devil could or would write the Bible. If you read the Bible I don't understand how you would think that it is divisive. It is about love and redemption. I have read the Bible many, many times and I am always deeply touched by the truth I find.

I to have read the Bible, and many different versions of the same book. That's another point I would like to make, one book with so many ideas of it's meaning???
Love is fantastic and we need more of it to seep into the souls of man but that's another point, people are dieing in the name of their god. Stop to think about the conflict this one book has brought about, the division in beliefs and religion, the wars and slaughter, the human life that has been sacrificed in the name of this book the Bible, the Koran. It's perfect really if it were all to manipulate mans mind, the Devil (which is only a metaphor) did a great job.... to keep us separated as a race of being. I am glad you are touched by the bible if it makes you feel connected it is then your sanctuary, which for some is a good thing. Cheers

The Bible was written by men, not some imaginary entity called the devil. The men who wrote it were not holy. They were people who had agendas and wrote to address them. Most of the Old Testament was written to promote the idea that the tribes of Israel were gods chosen people and had a right to what they considered the holy land.
The motivation of the authors of the New Testament is a little more complicated but in the end can be boiled down to convincing people that Jesus was the Messiah.

The Bible doesn't divide us. Our opinion of what the Bible is saying is what divides us.I don't believe it really matters who wrote the Bible or Why they wrote it. It will teach people concerning God and Jesus and I believe that is where the true value can be found.

well being pagan I may not be the best person to reply to this...but...
once I heard a joke about the bible
B===basic
I---instructions
B===before
L===leaving
E===earth.
besides the joke I belive the bible is a great piece of fiction that we can all learn from.
there are many lessons about loving your felow man.
helping others
forgiving people
that their is evil in the world
and then there is the things to learn that we dont want to do
hate...
intolerance
that a loving god would give free will then condem us for having free will
that god is only a male(yet in the bible he created every things in m/f pairs)
that christian is the only path to paridize...
this is just my view....as many diffrent people as there is out there their will be that many diffrent views...I belive we all need faith and it is not anyones place to choose how one belives or to influance someone to change them.
no wone knows which path is the right one perhaps they all are the right one ....perhaps all gods are one god....a rose by anyother name still smells the same
