i can guarantee that this wont receive many replies, because none of my topics ever do.
i post things that im interested in, and that other people should be too
i sometimes see people steal ideas for topics from me, and then loads of people reply to theirs and hardly any reply to mine..
why is that :(

I just looked up your profile, and read some of your Posts and Responses. The only advice I can offer is that you add more threads to your posts. Threads are ideas, and different people will be interested in different ideas. Never make a one-line Post. Try to make your post at least 4 lines long. Same goes for responses. WE get paid for the content, so the more content your post contains the better it is.

I checked you started discussions and one thing struck me a mile away - you have not commented on the responses you have received on any of them
We earn for commenting too and users are more likely to return if they know you will acknowledge the time they took and the effort they made to respond to you.
Also on at least one of your discussions there were no tags. I added some and that makes your discussions show up on the right -----
when 'similar dicussions' are open and you are more likely to receive responses if it they are more visible with tags to help them along.
Try some of the tips you have received here and I hope you will have better luck next time

Uhm... just a thought... instead of starting another discussion why not comment on previous ones first? Then you could also save the idea for the new one until later. There is no rush to start new ones as you will be earning by commenting just the same (as you will discover ) After all it is not a discussion unless you comment and then sometimes the responder comes back and cxomments on your comments and then... it could be never ending!

Hello friend, please don't think like that. It's not that people just don't want to reply to "your" discussions. I feel that their are certain factors that matters a lot for any discussion, to get number of responses. Like:
1. At what time you are starting the discussion(most number of members on mylot are from Asia, and they reply the most to the discussions, so write as per their timings)
2. Just see that your topics are not boring, and atleast not a repeated one(before beginning any discussion, search for same kind of discussion on mylot)
3. Try to use average number of words in your discussion, and that too straight to your topic. It should neither be too much, nor too short.
4. Try to make as many number of friends possible, hope they'll read your discussions first.
many more factors are their, and am sure you must be aware of them.
Happy mylotting dear friend.

Thanks for replying. I will try to post at a time when more people are online then.
Would you say a good time would be about 11/12 GMT then? I don't really understand the time differnces too well, but I imagine thats when people from Asia would be online?

Don't feel bad. I started 4 of my own, and they got very few responses if any at all. Maybe one or two a the most, and one never even got any. I guess that people will find their friends to respond to, and leave the other discussions alone. I don't do that as I post to any discussions that interest me and it doesn't matter if my friends have started them or not. I just like responding to discussions, and I will continue to do do, regardless if they are my friends that have started the discussions or not. Well, as least you have my resoponse, even if no one else responds lol. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

aww... dont be sad... sometimes its just like that.
when i make responses to a discussion i start at no response, and i only look at discussions on the first page i dont bother checking the next page, if i dont see anything i like responding there i go the new user tab, same thing i do there also..
try posting a discussion that are interesting to other people. and sometimes having a catchy title that makes it people check that discussion and responds to it.
i for one very seldom respond to a discussion that can be answered by yes or no...
also check others discussion and see why many people are responding to it...
never give up... you'll be able to post that discussion that will attract many responses soon.
this is one reason why i seldom starts a discussion... lol... because i dont know if ill get a response from other users or not.

I don't have many interesting photographs though, so I can't really do that :( But I might try to upload the couple of interesting ones that I do have.
I don't know if that will make things better, but it's certainly worth a try!
Thank you for taking the time to respond :)

because (I think) peoples didnt interested to the topic. I sent the same 'NOT RESPONDED" discussion several times. the most responds for my topic was only around 10, while we can see that there are people got much more responds, perhaps nearly 10 pages respond. It was also can be caused by their much FRIENDS at myLot. The other reasons was your region, as far as I know peoples from USA will always get more responds compared to peoples come from other region because myLot members is mostly American, they have the same interets, the same time for discussion. for examples when I posted a good topic at my time, myLot member from USA will read only the next day and there was much other topics sent to myLot, so that my "good" topic sank between hundrets other topics... what do you think young man ? above all thanks for your topic so that I can still send my new post.

you are very well come. by responding you I intent also add my post, because as more than 3 years member of myLot I posted only around 440, I want get my first $10 just to test that this system is working because as far as I hve tried to make money online, it was not working well, even I lost $1000, perhaps it will be my last test to learn make money online, although I know we can not expect (money) too much from myLot, but I got 5 free referrals from myLot by register exchanged means I register to their site and they did the same. Even I got no one with paying site to make referral as GDI worth of $5 a month. see you againyoung man and keep search friend you will successful, I know much good peoples at myLot.

I encounter the same situation as you... LOL...
Coming up with original discussions is hard work! Getting everyone else to comment on you discussion is even harder...
Have to take note of the title, not catchy enough, and people will ignore it... Sign....
Let us all work harder!

Thanks for replying. I will have a look and see what kind of things have been popular in the past, and I will try to pick things like that so that people will find them interesting.
It's funny that it's this topic that's attracted more attention than any other topic I've ever done, but never mind! I guess any publicity is good publicity!
Thanks for responding, and have a nice day!

It looks as if you are getting an average amount of responses. Sometimes things just don't get seen as much as others for some reason. Do you have a lot of friends? I think the more friends you have on here the more your stuff gets seen by them. Also I think the discussion topic that you add things to makes a difference to. I think less popular topics get less attention than discussions placed under more popular topics. I don't think you are doing bad though.

I am more than pleased with the amount of responses I've gained on this topic. It seems to be the most active one I've had in a long, long while!
I don't have that many friends, so perhaps I should add just a couple more people every day to my friends list and see how many of them end up responding to my discussions.
Thanks for your help, I will take your advice and hopefully it will work!

Hello GemmaR!!!
Well you are surely getting respond to your discussion at least I can see in this threat. Getting more than 10 response in 11 hours is not bad thing. I also get the responses in this rate.
I think this is the first time I have ever come to your discussion. I don't know, how to get more responses. I just start the discussion and use as many tags as I can. I don't get the number of responses I had estimated. But there is nothing to get sad with it.
Keep on making friends, you seem to be experience than me. We have to know the people's interest to get the more responses...
Happy mylotting...

Really?

This is the most active discussion I've posted in a while. It's kind of ironic really, given the topic!
I have started commenting people, and they seem to like that and more people seem to reply, so that's no bad thing. I will try to use more and more tags, but I can only add 10 to each discussion, so I shall have to hope that other people add a couple of tags when they respond to it as well!
Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Oh that's mysdianait, funny man, look how funny he looks itching his beardless chin lol .
I think the maximum allowed tags is only 5, isn't it.
In the above page I just said you have already got 10 response and now its over 3 pages, i.e more than 30 response. Celebrate and enjoy!!! This is the way...
Good luck for the future...

Hello, GemmaR! Well, I think, others are not familiar on your other topics. If you want to receive a lot of responses, your topic should be interesting and the title is catchy so lot of users will respond to your discussion. Having many friends also help in receiving many responses. The last is timing, there are times that many users are online. When you noticed that many new discussions from different users are around, it means that many are online. Happy mylotting!

Thanks for your advice. Do you know the times when the most people seem to be online? I noticed that I got a lot of replies to my topics while I slept (I had 50 email notifications when I woke up, but that's for all of my topics!) so maybe I should be posting things just before I go to bed, letting people reply during the night, and then commenting their responses in the morning when I wake up?
Just a thought anyway, it seems as though it might work!

I know it has. I was shocked when I logged onto my email this morning and saw that so many people had responded to my discussions! I have only just started taking the advice of the people on this thread, and already it is having an effect! Thank you for adding me as friend, we will be able to respond to each other's discussions now!
Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this. Have a nice day!

Well,GemmaR that happens all the time here on mylot it use to happen to me also the exact same thing i felt as you did but, now it don't bother me if no one respond to my discussions or not, don't get me wrong i would like all my discussions and posts to get responses but its just not reality we just have to accept what happens in life so don't feel like the lone ranger trust me you're not the only one who has felt like a step child...

A lot of factors go into the responses you get. When I most topics, I've found that most of the people who respond are on my MyLot friends list. So if you don't have a lot of users on your friends list, you might not get a lot of responses. If you want more friends, don't just go around adding people randomly. Chances are they won't like that! But get into discussions with other users that have similar interests as you! Respond to their discussions with helpful information! Then they're a lot more likely to respond to your discussions!
Another factor that plays a big part in how many responses you get is the interest you post your topic under! If you post under an interest topic that doesn't have a lot of activity, then you're not likely to get any responses because no one is reading the discussions! But if you post to an interest topic that is TOO active, chances are you're going to lost in all the posting and your discussion is going to get overlooked! So you want to find a good middle ground... active enough to get responses, but not too active to where your posts get overlooked!
Also, a good tip for getting responses is to grab and keep attention of users! Make your post title really stand out! Then don't make your discussion post too long, or many users won't take the time to read it... let alone respond to it! And use proper grammar and spelling so that your post is easy to read and understand! If users can't understand what you're saying, they won't bother to respond!

Thanks for your advice. I have tried adding some people as friends who have replied to my topics in the past, as I know that means they have at least one same interest.
I always use proper spelling and grammar, you should check out my homepage!

Its only that little people have you got into interests and the way you open a discussion. Its better if you try to go with what the mylotters are so fond of rather than having only the least interests that you can post. Though its all open for everything to discuss and to post about, there is no way to stop you from creating those discussions you most like.

Ok I will have a look and see which interests seem to have the most people in them, and try to post some discussions in those.
I will have a look through other popular discussions and see what kinds of things seem to be popular.

As far as MyLot topics were concerned, they are intersting to every one(because every body has has born with specific, interesting, on verious topics which needs deep understanding at closure level. some times, it happen that the people who read these topics, may some times misthem, ie. they have no time or they some time misunderstand due to their pre-ocupation and resulting to mis-understand.These topics needs to be studied with deep closure look, in the sense, they are ment to understud, as was intended by the author
