What is with Walmart and their pricing

I don't know about everyone else, but I think Walmart's pricing has gotten out of hand. On a recent trip to there I wanted to purchase ice cream and pretzels. The Breyers ice cream has been reduced to $2.00, the pretzels however jumped in price from $1.18 to $1.74, and .56 jump in the price. Has the pretzel market been hurt recently, forcing the price to go up? I want to know what everyone thinks about Walmart pricing ... and how does it affect you?

That does seem weird. Breyers ice cream for $2? There must be some kind of super-sale going on or something. I've never seen that type of ice cream (which is usually around $6 - isn't it?) be that cheap. How bizarre. I have been noticing that things have been getting more & more expensive though. Sometimes when I look at the clothes - I'll notice that a pair of jeans are $25! It's like..whoa! Aren't I at Wal-Mart? Shouldn't they be like $10?

It does seem at times that they want to be a Target ...

Definitely! Although Target is upsettingly expensive, too, if you ask me.

i seldom do any grocery shopping at walmart. we are in canada and while they have good sales in food, i find they mark up the rest of their food products. they sell bananas for 79 cents a lb and i can get them elsewhere for 69 cents! i still do go to walmart for shoes and some clothing.
