I saw that on the news and you tube they are talking about a town in mississippi having a white only prom. They say it's tradition, not racisist. What do you think?

I read the news story...It sounds like it is racists but what if it is tradition? One thing I do agree with that the article said is about how black people have their own things like BET and whatnot. But they aren't looked at racist by not including white people. But yeah who knows it's up to the people that are there. Plus I think that it's a lot to do with the parents/grandparents that want it to be separated like the old times.

I actually kind of do think of those things as racist. When one race or any other race aside from the one hosting an event or show is not welcome I think it is wrong. Everyone is screaming for cultural diversity but no one wants to share their culture. Interesting.

Well i would say racisist For the simple reason tht probably teh tradition is in fact racisist .
I believe they are just using it as an excuse to be racisist.

(I am white)
It is tradition, the tradition of being racist. If we keep pointing out to our children that it is ok to not talk to someone or socialize with someone due to the color of their skin, they might actually belive us and racism will never end. It is sad that people can actually still justify having an event or club for one certain race (it is not only white people who do this by the way). By doing this we are not promoting equal rights for all, instead we are promoting that every person of a certain race should have these rights, and another race have another set of rights.
This is not ok, nor will it ever be as far as I am concerned.
