Well, the best way to fight fatigue is to get a full night's sleep- most adults need between 7 and 9 hours. I find that I need closer to 9. If you're already getting enough sleep and you're still constantly sleepy, you might have something a little more serious going on. Working or studying too much will tire you out, but with enough sleep you shouldn't feel constantly tired. You should avoid using caffeine or energy drinks to fight fatigue. They might mask the symptoms, but they're not solving the problem and they're also not all that good for you. A little caffeine is ok, and natural sources like tea and coffee are better than energy drinks. Another thing is to make sure that you are eating a healthy diet. A diet that is high in fats and refined sugars can sap your energy and make you feel lethargic. Get plenty of lean protein and carbohydrates from whole grains, and make sure you get the vitamins and minerals you need too.

I would advise starting with a vitamin b-complex supplement, in capsule form if possible. This will raise your energy level. It is a water soluble vitamin which means you cannot get too much and it stays in your body for roughly 8 hours. A good ginseng tea will also help raise your energy level. I get both of the above at puritan.com Keeping vitamin C and electrolytes in your system will help you keep energy levels up and keep your body hydrated. A good product to do this is emergen-c by the company Alacer.

eat a good healthy mean with lots of veggies, and take a hot or cool shower, whichever is more relaxing then go to bed. I have this problem during the last month of the school year. The only thing I found to help is eating healthy and making my self go to bed at a decent hour as often as possible.

I agree with what everyone else has said, and I have a few ideas to add. Sometimes it is really difficult to stay awake during boring meetings or boring classes, and a way that I have found to stay alert is to sit up very straight and breathe deeply. I also found that doing multiplication or addition of large numbers in my head kind of "exercised my brain". After a minute or two, I would be alert again.

I believe if you go to sleep at the same time each night and waking up at the same time each morning resulting in 7 to 8 hours of sleep you should feel good in the morning. Plus you should take a multi-vitamin, eat healthy foods like veggies an fruits. If you are getting a good night sleep and eating good then there may be something seriously wrong that you need a doctor to check out. I don't want to scare you but you rather be safe than sorry. Good luck and health to you!

i was exactly the same way, i just never ever had any energy what so ever, on top of that i have a 1 yr old. my mom said to me one day when i was talking to her about it she said sounds like i need to detoxify my body so she urged me to start taking 2 tsp. of apple cider vinegar every morning, along with a vitamin, and i'm hear to tell you that i feel much better than i have in a long time. i play with my daughter outside now, i by myself go outside and do the lawn work, you know mowing, using the weed eater, trimming the bushes and such and still have enough energy when my other 3 kids come home from school. we go and play and swimm so try that it taste awful and i mean awful. it works for me.
