The tasks wiped me!

I spent quite a bit of time working on tasks this evening. For the first time, I was able to grab quite a few of them. They really do go fast!
I never thought they would require so much from me though. I dont think my brain has worked that hard in over 2 years - since I was last in school. Now I just want to sit back and do nothing. I hope this post makes sense because I cant promise anything right now!
Have tasks ever stretched your mind? How often do you complete tasks? Do you ever need a complete mental break?

Now your post gets me to give it a try.I really never got down to trying them.If we are paid well for the effort we put it I guess its worth trying.I found many posting here saying that they took a lot of time did it and it was rejected. That put me off totally, how very discouraging that would be.Anyway let me try now.You can just do mylot discussions for a refreshing mental break as I feel this is one area where one can de-stress and have fun.

There are some tasks that warn that you must have excellent English skills. I can imagine that is why some people have had their tasks rejected. There have been some that I looked at and thought "I dont think I could actually do that" so I dont!
Try one of the 'link' ones first. They are really simple. They look daunting at first, but they arent once you actually do it!
I really shouldnt be encouraging everyone else to do tasks... there will be less for me!
I agree myLot discussions can be a great mental break!

Some of the tasks seem way too difficult for the reward offered for them. Some are just too plain confusing. Also, I spent time trying to do one of the tasks without having photoshop, I used Paint instead. The powers that judge didn't like the results with Paint, so I didn't get credit. That made me give up on the tasks.

I havent tried any yet that arent entirely words. Thanks for the warning though. I will remember that in case I ever see any like that!
Some of them are not worth it, so I skip those. But sometimes I can write the 4 paragraphs quickly because I know about the product/keywords. I have also found that the link ones dont take me very long at all. They dont earn me a lot, but it is more than if I were to spend that time posting on discussions!

I do tasks about as often as I get lucky enough to grab some :) I really enjoy the writing tasks. I do some of the keyword searches but only if I have free time because I find them kind of slow to complete. Today, for the first time, I did a writing task that I had to work really hard to complete -- simply because the subject matter was a lot more technical than I initially thought when I accepted it. I don't like to forfeit anything once I've accepted, so I did as much research as I could to get the paragraphs properly written.

For the first time, last Friday, I had a task abandoned :( I felt SO bad LOL I had a power failure after I had accepted 2 or 3 tasks and wasn't able to get the very last one submitted before the deadline expired. I've always been a workaholic, though, for anything I commit to do so, even for that one task, I felt irresponsible not submitting. Oh well - can't control blackouts, right? LOL!

Thank you so much for the consideration of BR :) That was very nice of you. And I'm so sorry about your accidental forfeits today... UGH... I'd be upset too! I did a couple of today's writing tasks but was also experiencing slow response and load time. I decided to write the pieces and just hold on to them until it seemed to pick up the pace a little. Got 'em in under the deadline thankfully... Better luck to you for tomorrow!!

I am the same way as you. Whenever I can, I grab the tasks! One of the ones I completed tonight took more effort to research than I expected. It will be worth it, though. And I learned something new. That is always fun. I wonder if we were working on the same task!
I dont blame you for not wanting to forfeit the tasks. I have forfeited one. It was one of the first I accepted. It was from another member. After looking at it a little more I realized they wanted me to email them the info. I wasnt comfortable with that. So I forfeited it. But I did learn my lesson!

I know how you feel. Sometimes I get a headache and need to take a break from writing and research. Some of the topics are hard to find online but I do enjoy doing the tasks. I am still pretty new here - only about 10 days now but I love it here on myLot.

I have been here for less than a month myself. I love it though! It really is a great opportunity to have some fun, learn something, and get paid for it! I really do like learning. I am just amazed at how out of practice I am for researching something completely new! I used to be able to do it without thinking twice about it!

I did my first task today. I tried to get in on a writing assignment but missed out. I did get a research assignment though. It looked really daunting when I was reading about it but I signed up for it anyway. Once I got into it the task wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. I finished it quicker than I thought I would. Now I am just waiting for it to be accepted.
Happy Mylotting!

Hehehe, you will get used to it. One time I did 7 writing task for one night, twas about 3 hours work. The following day, I did , I think 10 writing tasks which I did for 4-5 hrs. Sometimes it is so draining I agree, but I have been used to writing articles. There are times when I really have to catch for time before I ran out time writing those articles. But its worth I guess the work. I have written articles for a website which pays ok, and the way I see it, the pay here in mylot is more or less at the same range.
