Do you put a highlighter mark on the book you are reading?

I usually put a mark on a caption or quote I find interesting on the book I am reading. So that when I re read the book, I will just focus on the marked words. Do you also use a marker to highlight important words or captions in the book you are reading?

I only ever really used highlighters in my books when I was in college. It helped for studying purposes. Now when I read a book that is informational and I want to have easy access to certain parts or there are certain parts I'd like to remember then I put in the small post it tabs. I love them because they don't ruin the book by any means. Because sometimes I sell my books back to the used book store if I don't have any use for them anymore.

Wow what a fantastic idea. I know pleople will be disgusted about marking books but I always write in mine- because they are mine and I like to make notes about what is happening.
The quotation thing is a great idea though especially if they are posititve or philosophical!

Hello larish!!!
Well that is the very good habit and it will save the time when you read them next time.
But I don't do that often. Only sometimes, I do it. When I read the book I feel like each and every line is important hehe...Rather most of the time I use the library books than my own, so I don't have the authority to do such things in the book. Also I don't usually take the pencil with me when I read the book. But if I use, rather than highlighter, I prefer to underline with the pencil. When I was in small grades, my teacher used to read out the book and when the important lines come, they used to suggest to underline them. But at that time, I didn't know the use of underlining in the books lol....
Happy mylotting...

If the book belongs to me or my mom I know that I can write in it anything that is pertinant to what I am reading. Not only does it help me get into what I have read but it also makes me think more about it.

Nope I don't put highlighters on my books. It's like vandalism for me. LOL. I only use a highlighter when I'm doing audit work at the office. It really helps a lot. I cherish my books too much to put highlights on them. HEHE.

No, I don't use the highlighter, because it will make my books look dirty. I use pencil instead, so I can delete it when I'm done :)
