So My best friend is FINALLY getting married. I introduced her fincee and her almost 3 years ago. Their son is almost 2. They have been engaged for almost 2 years. Out of the blue, they got their marriage lisense and are throwing together a flash wedding on June 20. She is looking to do very cheap. I am actually certified in wedding consulting, but have never done anything with it. She has asked me to be her maid of honor and I am down with that. She told me to wear whatever I wanted, the groom is wearing purple, so I am not sure what to wear. She has no idea what she is wearing. She might actually borrow my dress. She wants this to be special but can't afford much of anything becaus her soon to be husband just lost his job. She has the folding chairs, the place, her grand father has become ordained to do the cermeony. Her son is going to carry the pillow. I think all she needs is flowers. She is deciding on the dress this weekend, she has three borrowed ones to choose from. Any cool ideas for flowers, or cheap ways to spice up the ceremony?

I've read in some articles that to save on flowers, choose the ones that are in season, or the ones that could be grown year round. You can also do the arrangements by yourself, you just need some ribbons to tie them. If you have extra cash to buy loose rose petals, you can spread them out on the aisle so that it looks more dramatic - it also replaces the regular carpet. You could also ask some friends or family to sponsor the cost for the flowers, some of them might be willing to. Or if you want, you can opt for silk flowers, at least maintenance won't be much of a problem. Good luck!

I saw a photo of a wedding bouquet with a red roses-white calla lilies combination. They looked really good. Maybe you can try that out.
