Although Michael Jordan has been retired for years now, he still has a great influence not only on basketball but people around the world--young and old. Ask anyone who knows even a tiny bit about basketball "who's the greatest of all time and I'm willing to go all in that MOST of them will respond "Michael Jordan." He has a 30.12 points per game average, which is the highest ever in NBA history. He's won six NBA championships and was the MVP of the NBA Finals every time they claimed the Championship. He was also the leagues Most Valuable Player five times.
Even after years of retirement, we still admire Michael Jordan. We even go so far as to compare NBA's current stars to him. We buy his sneakers, collect his jerseys, cards, etc. We watch his basketball footage, commercials, TV shows he's starred in, movies, you name it. But why? Why does he have such a lasting legacy?
It is not only because he is the greatest basketball player to this point, but because of his life mottoes. He believed that he prospered because of his failures: I've failed over and over again in my life... And that is why I succeed." His victories came from his defeats. He was once an underdog and he came out on top. He flew above the rim while overcoming all of his life's obstacles. He has become a symbol of true greatness on AND off the court. That is why we admire him and that is why he has left such a last legacy.
Do you think Michael Jordan's legacy lives up to his hype? Do you think there will ever be someone who can actually surpass what Jordan has done? I think its possible and I hope it happens during my lifetime.

I wonder if your question is all about the good or you think he is on a pedestal and you would like to see him stumble or tumble down?
For as basketball Lebron James because you can already make comparisons between Lebron and Kobe I can see even more realistically when I hear the sports commentators pointing to his physical strength Jordan was not that big in size
physically and I would look at his wide shoulders but I did not realize to after the game how big his muscles has gotten
You did not need to ask that question from your comments he do.Seriously speaking he cannot be hyped up any further by him or no one else really because he is in a realm of space he cannot always called his own remember he still has his one percent that he was going to keep.People like Michale Jordan,Oprah,Bill Gates, Bill Cosby, Old Blue Eyes respectfully these people became bigger than life like creatures that they are granted with honor and respect wherever they go. When you reach the almost bigger than life or Bigger than life status the success the world gives them put them in another realm of world your behavior adjusts read the life of Shirley Temple
The President and his Family thinking and life changed quickly a big difference is these people they know how to handle a lot of success if it comes in droves they will accept it kindly. They know how to stay grounded with their success. They prepare when necessary to make sure they stay grounded and not let success spoil them not to the point of spoiled rotten tomatoes.Pride leaves before the fall.
No Michael Jordan is beyond hype so there is no comparison to be found between the two. There Legacy continues because they are carried by their own personage if you can take away the personage you take their identity. If you take away the personage they could not look in the mirror and face the image that they see.For that mirror is becomes the world and the public they would have to come face to face with under strange than fiction day after day until they can sort out a new image surly they were not build up to be torn down if so they did not falter and became the cream of the crop so to speak my hat is off to them.

Michael Jordan is the greatest of all time and there's no denying it. What he has done for the game very few have been able to accomplish. I do credit Michael Jordan's success to his failure. He had an unique ability to grow stronger from his failures. The classic example is his inability to make his high school team his freshman year. Most people would have given up and done something else but Michael went out and he trained harder. He put himself in a position to never be turned away again. I think that is a quality that we all can learn from. We may not get everything or achieve everything the first time around. We have to find deep down in ourselves the motivation and energy to work harder and take what's rightfully ours. Nothing good in life comes easy and I'm a firm believer that if you want something enough you will do anything to get it.
These are the reasons Michael Jordan's legacy lives on and will continue to live on forever. He was more than a basketball ball player. He's an example of perseverance and dedication. Michael Jordan like other influential people in history will always be an example of what hard work can get you in life.
It is also important to realize that there are tons of "Michael Jordans" in the world. A prime example is our president of the United States of America. We can call Barack Obama the Micheal Jordan of Politics. He has done what no other African American has been able to do in history. Like Michael Jordan, Barack has set a standard for all Americans but especially African Americans. Through his accomplishments we all see that anything is possible.
In the end, people should look up to influential people like Barack Obama and Michael Jordan as role models. They should use their accomplishments in life to push them beyond their limits. I really think in today's world nothing is impossible.
"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying." (Michael Jordan)
