Hi my lotters, I have this scary experience just this afternoon and I am still shaking. I was in this passenger jeepney when one fat man hop in then followed by 3 men who seats in different places one of the men sits beside the fat man, While we are travelling I happen to focus my eyes on this man who happen to have his bag infront of him but I noticed his hand was on the fat man's pocket and try to get the man's cellphone. I feel so nervous and I don't know what to do the man stares at me with a sharp look, I look to another side of the jeep and I noticed another man trying to get something on the woman's bag. I slowly put my small bag at my side and try to not look at them I close my eyes and really pray that may God's devine protection be with us. The three men go down as fast as they could. Thanks God, He is always there in that very scary situation of my life. How about you friend have you ever have an experience like mine? If you were in my place what will you do?

thank goodness you are alright and you got off unscathed. it is really scary. i don't know what i would have done in your place. but knowing me, maybe i couldn't stay silent. good thing nobody else was hurt during that incident. my one and only experience with something like that happened on dec 18, 2001 while i was waiting for a cab. it was practically a crowded highway, lots of people waiting for available jeepneys, fx, and cabs. when a jeepney was about to park along the side of the road, i went to the other side so i won't get hit or something. my mistake, coz 5 men just grabbed me. 2 men on each of my shoulders and another 2 on my arms while one of the guys was in front of me flagging his knife. his face was the only one i could see. he told me to give him my cellfone and the other guys were jeering him on and telling me to give in so i wouldn't be hurt. i felt so violated that i even told him, "how dare you!". in english no less, and not in my native tongue. of course 5 men were physically stronger than i am and i couldn't do much else. they got my cellphone from the pocket of my pants. they didn't try to get my purse and even my shopping bag, just the phone. the cellphone was new at that time, bought in singapore, and i just came home a month before that after staying in indonesia for several months. i was able to push one of the guys and hit him with my shopping bag. but i barely missed the knife he waved in my direction. that stopped me from my tracks. i couldn't move nor cry for several minutes until people just crowded me in asking if i was ok and some of the guys offering to take me home. i was so frustrated that their help was already too late. i was staying at my sisters house at the time and they all got worried when i didn't come home on time. they called my phone and it was just ringing and ringing. i was in a terrible shock, and i didn't know how i managed to get home. when i finally did, my sister opened the door and the dam just burst. i broke down in tears. they kept asking me what happened trying to be certain that i wasn't raped or something. worse, i had to call my cellphone service company to report my stolen phone and to temporarily disable my postpaid account. and i had to report it myself and i tried to explain to them in between sobs. worst thing was the nightmare. i kept seeing his face and i hated it. i had nightmares for 3 months. since then, either i get fetched by car by any of my brothers and brother-in-law from my night outs and travels or i would immediately text the body number of the cab that i was in. they wouldn't advise me to get on public transportation. and i never passed that highway ever again. i avoided it like a plague. my family was very thankful i wasn't really hurt by the incident. but more than the physical harm, i felt violated, my sense of security was on the line. i was at the time working with an NGO helping poor communities. there are so many poor people struggling to make an honest living. why can't they be role models to everyone else in the same predicament? why do some people resort to crime to escape poverty? sorry this got too long. i haven't talked about this incident for a very long time. your post kinda triggered a memory of a very bad experience that i haven't thought of for quite some time now.

hi vaibhavi80, thank God I just close my eyes and I don't know the 3 men just got out of the jeep and then run as fast as they can. Maybe they noticed that all the passengers are alarmed I don't know but what I do believe God is in control. Up to now I am very nervous, I don't want this experience to happen again. God Bless can we be friends?

So, you meant to say that they were stealing things in front of your eyes and you din't even said a single word. Were they robbing them or stealing because if they are robbing then there is nothing one can do unless he is a superhero kind of person but if they were stealing then you could have given a hint to that person whose purse was taken away by one of those 3 men! Did you do that?

i have experienced being snatched by a fellow passenger inside a jeepney in cebu. all of us was tongue tied. and i was scared and shaken too. so from now on, every time i go to big cities like manila and cebu, i am very much alert and make sure that i do not wear jewelries.

Honestly, i would freak out, if it's just a man then it would be a different case. But if we think it through, what you should have done is get a look at their face and try to memorize their face and go to the police station and make a report, TOGETHER with the victims. and of course, you should have told them, as soon as the culprit got off the bus. I do understand that we'll get scared to witness such crime, but its the society collectives responsibility to help inform the Police of the crime and criminals that stir the peace and harmony in our society. I always believe that without the public helping the police, the police is just an organisation that malfunction and, sorry to say, good for nothing. Well, just try to calm yourself down and be brave, and remember to get hold of your bag while you are in the bus. ^_^

You are right with it. That is the unforgetable moments in your life that you will not forget. It is so fearful and mixed feelings of nervous that anyone could not understand. Thst a hrad thing to describe and you want to let it out right away. I have also experienced this thing but no great commotion but still there was a feeling of trauma w/ it. I saw the knife he was holding that time.
