why do women loved to talk about others?

have you ever wondered about it? usually when women gets together- the topic they discuss is about someone else, rather than what's up with them.
Even in telephone conversation, women talks - in their readings - usually it will be about someone - check out the gossip column!
well, why is it that women loves to talk - about others?
Plainly saying - why do women loved to gossip?

hi Asherem, I feel few woman are more caring about other that why they talk about their family member. some of them want to share their experience . and some have a tendancy to go on gossiping with out any reason
In Short they like to talk about others so that they forget their problems.. enjoy mylotting

I am not an expert on women and I don't aim to become one but I must agree with your observation but I don't know the reason why. When I talk to my wife, it is usually about something she wants to talk about otherwise she gets bored. Cheers!!

Oh, please... dont pretend men don't do it too. 
In my current workplace, I would say that its more often the men who start the discussions about others. It tends to be more about what the person's done than how they look.My philosophy is - If you dont want everyone to know - tell no-one.

You know something, but you don t know all the truth.
Specialist say that man talk more as woman do.Really, and they like much more to talk about others.
I am woman, but i don t like to talk with person, i say person, not just woman who like to talk to much, i hate this. I have my own problems, why i must talk about others? i don t see here any reason to say my opinion about others life.
So, i am a woman who don t like talk about others....i really don t like talk to much
