Hey Mylotters:)
I love the film The Lion King. Ive probably seen it more than a dozen times but ive only got it on video. I was going to buy it on DVD but Ive seen a clip of the film in HD on YouTube and it looks amazing!
I cant find it on Blu-Ray anywhere and im not sure if its even on Blu-Ray.
This is one film that really should be on a Blu-ray disk and i don't know why they haven't done yet.
Mikey:)

From what I heard while watching TV on Consumer Electronics Show 2008 program, Disney won't release its blu-ray version for The Lion King till earliest by 2011. In that program Disney only announced its future Platinum Edition until the year of 2010, such as; Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Pinocchio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I still remember that TV program.

It's cell animation, high definition with do nothing for it as the colors are all artificial anyway and it's drawings. If you get a chance to, try to watch something like south park or looney toons on blue ray next to a standard dvd. You will see that there is no noticeable difference.
Perhaps live action Lion King, but that would just be going too far.
It's not that I have anything against The Lion King, it's just that reformatting it for Blue-Ray or high def even is just a waste of time. It doesn't really work for traditionally animated cartoons.
