Hello guys, personally i do not have any piercings, but i was at work one day when they told us that the company's policy is no earings for boys. One of my colleagues said that was discriminating to males and sexist. It made me think if on religous grounds or maybe morally, earings where made for girls to differentiate men from women or what. Please if you know the answer to this, i would like you to enlight me . Much appreciated

I don't think that earrings were made specifically for women. There are many cultures that have men wearing earrings too. Here in the states it is more popular for women to wear them, but there was a time when it was kind of an "in" thing for guys too. I think it is discrimination if your work forbids men from wearing earrings and not women. It needs to be all or nothing.

Personally think it is discrimantory if you are treating men differently from women, just as if they were treating men more favourably than women.

I don't see anything wrong with men wearing earrings. This has become part of fashion for a lot of men. However, if it's company policy, men should be able to follow. A guy certainly does not look "corporate-ish" with earrings on. I don't think that they are being discriminated at.
