i think some people are just overreacting on it...
some just ride in its popularity for their own benefits.
video scandals is an old issue and why is it that they are talking about this too much this time? because the people involved are known? does it worth the time of the senators? if they are really concerned about this kind of things , they should have done this before..making laws against this kind of abuse to women.
after this issue, what? they will forget it and when another thing happens they will again talk about it..i don't know with them. and i think this kind of issue should be talked not in public coz it just give the girl more shame. but i appreciate katrina's courage to face this kind of problem.
what do you think? is this issue just being sensationalized? and that there are more important things that our respective senators do than this thing?
its just my opinion. thanks! ;-)

You got it right, it is indeed sensationalized. Now everybody is riding the scandal bandwagon. Every want to take some piece of the pie. Bong and the rest of the senate. I don't think they should dwell on it like it's national issue. I think the NBI is enough to solve it then let the court decide. That simple. They're making a circus out of it.

As we are in a democratic country... we are allowed to state our opinion and our point of views. Anyways, "some" public officials does not care much of our sentimental as long as they are fulfilling there personal needs unless... election is coming...next year's presidential election... smells fishy.
For example this scandals of some showbiz personas... why do some of our officials really have to pay more attention to this while there are so much more issues should be given their effort and attention like graft and corruption??? economic crisis??? and lately our text messaging will be affected???... wew! They are just wasting peoples money in working in a nonsense issues. I think they have their own reasons. And only them knows their agenda of participating the action.
Anyways, Hayden and Katrina pays what they are doing before and taste their own dosage. We just leave them alone and settle this conflict by themselves.
One lesson to be learn... never do it with the lights on... specially if your into a wrong relationship... for safety purposes. hehhhehe. peace ...

Hi ckyera!
I agree with your views and opinion regarding this issue. I'm also against with this, I mean there's a proper institution or court to investigate and handle this issue. If they were just after a bill that could control this crime, I think they could debate and make a resolution or laws regarding cyber crimes and video voyeurs without having this so much publicized scandal.
By the way, all publicized investigation of Senate had resulted to nothing, I can't even recall if someone was even charge or punished. Remember Garci, ZTE (Jun Lozada expose), fertilizer scams, etc. I think our elected Senators should really reviews their job and stick to what they could better do with our depraving economy and society.
Have a nice day!

I think it is being sensationalized by other people, because let's accept this, hayden/katrina's video is not the only scandal video that hits in recent years in the Philippines, a lot of videos are circulating all these decades but why this video of Hayden is the one being singled out?
If they are sincere (politicians)about punishing the people involved, why they don't invite for investigation also other celebrities and people involved in the past scandal? My point is-there are still other important issues that must be look by our politicians that are more related to our daily lives than dwell so much on the dirt of other people.

i believe so, there are much more important things than that they should give attention. I'm not saying that they should not act on it, they should of course but just don't be overacting about it as if its a really big crime affecting everybody's lives.
i know this can happen to anyone but we also know that it will not happen to us if we only become a responsible individual, knowing what is good & bad.

The issue has been blown out of proportion and is being used by politicians for exposure. A popular local news anchor said that the senate hearing is not anymore used "in aide of legislation" but "in aide of re-election". I do believe he has a point in saying that.

Thats how it shows the kind of people we have in the government, this issue was been for long, many poor young ladies victimized by these video scandal, had the government done anything, no because, these poor young ladies have no money and they are not celebrities and not one soul attend to their cry. This is what I see the Phillippines is, our law makers love grandstanding but this will end up to nothing, watch and the issue will die soon. I wish they could come up with a law to prosecute people doing this.

Definitely! These people are just being used by politicians who want to get media mileage. If the lawmakers wanted to protect women, they should have crafted a law to that effect many years ago. These lawmakers just want publicity or else they would have agreed to a close door hearing to protect the persons involved. Making these hearings a public affair only serves to humiliate the victim even further.
As for Ms. Halili, she should have lodged her complaint in the proper forum instead of letting herself be used by politicians. Those senate hearings are only making matters worsts and it is making a circus out of the scandal. Had the case been lodged in court, she could have had a closed door hearing that will shield her from further public humiliation. What is more important is that she could have slapped Mr. Kho will millions in damages or even put him behind bars if she get the right lawyers to argue her case.

This scandal is covering the real issues that we should face. Issues which are far more important than this scandal such as the whistle blower in the balikatan exercises.
I think we should focus more on the government issues rather than this stupid scandal.

I think yes this issue is just being sensationalized. I feel pity for Katrina because the more this issue become sensationalize the more the people become curious and eager to see the video. I think I'm the only person whom until now didn't see the video. Although I'm really tempted and wanted to watch it but don't know where to find it lolz hehe kidding aside I hope this issue will stop soon for the benefit of Katrina for her peace of mind..

I don't think so but the thing is, is there a law or a bill to condemn these people doing the bad things?
That's what I have been thinking after hearing the series of news on the TV on previous days.
I hope that the committee would come up with the right charges to be filed for that doctor who never had thought of what his doings has come to an end.

sad to say there's still no specific law for this kind of thing. what i heard is that violation against women something like that is the most they can charge against these people...
there should be a law for it if only they do it then, not just now that the involved are celebrities. kat is not the only who's being a victim of this kind of crime?
