I am curious of what people are reading now. I am currently reading a manuscript that a friend has an intention to publish. However, I found that I am not currently reading any other books. I was wondering what people are reading to give me a direction on something good. I have found that I have been too wrapped up in my own writing and the writing of buddies that I have come out of touch a little bit of what people are reading today. Can someone give me some suggestions?

I'm right in the middle of reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. My friends wanted to go to the movies to watch it, but I found out it was a book and had to read it. It's really good so far. I'm about half way through it.

Excellent book! Dan Brown is a fab writer. I always like to read a book before I see the movie, but don't do what I did with the devinci code and pick the film to pieces. That gets on peoples nerves, apparently, LOL!

I'm re-reading New Moon from the Twilight series. Even though they are aimed at older teens and young adults, I find them fascinating as they are so well written, and capture my imagination very well. The type of story that i can get lost in for a little while.

It depends on what kind of books you like, but I could recommend a ton of them! I agree that James Paterson is great! I have read quite a few of his. My favorites are the Alex Cross Novels. Stephen King is good, as well as Pat Conroy.

chinmerry, I used to own my own publishing company, it was a POD (Print On Demand) so I am used to reading manuscripts. I also have published two books myself, I did not publish them through my company. I have been writing for over 16 years, so I have had a chance to view many a manuscript. I used to be a freelance writer full time for 5 years and now I am getting back into it after a sabbatical for 3 years. I have also read many an ARC (these are copies of books to review, you can not sell these as an author does not make money on these copies, they are for book reviews and previews only) in my time. I used to book review for Penguin Press and many others. So, what was that book you disliked?
