what are you making this year for christmas?

I still can't believe it's Spring! I have had so much going on this year that I haven't given Christmas a thought. Normally, I do... I like to make gifts for everyone and start early but, with all the rain we've had this Spring, I'm still very busy with my garden. I have a lot of plants to start over because what I had planted were washed out. However, once things settle down some, assuming they will, I'll probably start thinking of things to make for Christmas. Early this year I went around our property, gathering pinecones and other seed pods that would look great spray painted white or silver to at least use on boxed gifts. I like to use unusual things to make them different instead of using typical bows. I'm sure I'll come up with different things as the summer progresses. One thing I've learned is that it's never too late to start thinking about next Christmas. I despise last-minute shopping!

I already started buying gifts on sale or discount. I slowly plan my family's Christmas celebration this year. I don't really plan on it this early as in full blown planning. I just jot down ideas when I have them. I think this site would be helpful http://www.gifti.us

I have a few things tucked away, but haven't decided if I'll make anything for gifts this year or not. It seems like the only things I can think of have been overdone already. I'll keep looking though. It always seems to be in the back of my mind when I shop, too.

I never do anything for christmas at all, whatever happens happens at christmas for me, being sick all the time is the major reason that I do not do much of anything anymore.

I have not even thought about it. I guess I should I was in Hobby Lobby last week, and the Christmas stuff was up. I might try soy candles and natural soap.

I thought I was the only one who got such a jump start on Christmas. I am glad to see that I am not the only one. So far I have actually bought 2 presents for different people. I was on vacation and saw things they would like. I even got a huge discount since it was still considered off season at the ocean front. I have also started to make a few things for some of my family members. I take photos of everyone all the time. So I figured I would take advantage of that and collect them and create a special gift for them. I frame them in unique frames, some I make myself out of natural wood I find in the forest. I even spell out words like "family, love, friends or their names with actual photos of nature and then in the last frame I'll place a picture of them. They are quite unique and fun to do and fun to receive.

Your Christmas project from last year sounds good. Do you have a photo you can post? I generally give gift cards. It's hard to buy for grandkids who are out of state and I don't always know their sizes or what they need. It works well for us. I haven't been working much on crafts lately. Too busy doing other things. I do think about Christmas every month on the 25th. Habit I started many years ago..lol One year I made some standing eyeglass holders. One friend bought several for her older friends who wear glasses. Don't have a specific craft I will be working on for this year. Will post a photo if the eyeglass holder, hopefully. Sometimes it doesn't work!
