Whether it is Miami, Tampa, or Orlando are the most desirable places to live in Florida? You can enjoy the beautiful sunset before the beach, and you can enjoy the warm weather, and most of them are tourist places.
One thing I worry about is job problem; Would there are plenty of jobs available? Or about the natural disaster of flooding. What about the house price?

Well, we are planning to move to Gainesville. It is pretty much in the center of the state so we can be at either beach in an hour but we won't have to put up with the tourist traffic and prices. A very nice apt in Gainesville can be gotten fairly cheap ($600 - $700/mo). They have very good hospitals there, such as University of FL Shands, as well as lots of great stores and restaurants. It also has the added benefit of being inland enough to take a lesser impact from the hurricanes. We have friends who live there and have been there several times, and we love it there. Kind of a small town environment with all the big city conveniences. I am originally from Daytona but wouldn't go back there - too commercial.

The problem with living in these cities are that they are very expensive. I lived in Miami and in Fort Lauderdale for a total of 22 years and I recently moved to Houston Texas. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Life is A LOT less expensive here, especially housing. Anyway, I would totally recommend Miami or Fort Lauderdale. If you wish to go further north than maybe Port St. Lucie or Bradenton. Happy hunting!!

Well Florida is beautiful most places but from my parents view the taxes are really high there. I'm not to sure about the job situation. Its quite humid though and the flooding, hurricanes that is not to my liking at all. Houses I think are reasonable more so than New York.

Living in Miami is very expensive. I was staying with a friend in a one bedroom and one bathroom apartment. The rent was $900 and the place is small. Though the job pay high in Miami and there are always jobs there. You have the beaches to go too and if you like fishing, going to the keys is great. Though you will get bored there. I say shopping in Miami is the best. More cheaper than going shopping in Orlando.
As for Orlando, it's expensive, but not expensive like Miami. At least you have things to do in Orlando with theme parks, beaches, shopping, etc. As for job rise I'm not too sure. Yes you can find jobs, but don't expect high pay.
For flooding, Miami is the worst since they are more likely to get hit by hurricanes and they do have problem with flooding sometimes.
