Yesterday morning on my way to work, I was informed from all over the place that there was an Amber Alert. The huge electronic sign on the side of the road gave the information of the car and license plate number. On the radio they were talking about it. A 9 year old girl and her mother were abducted. The mother called 911 from the trunk of a car they were in. By the time I was on my way to work, the car they had been in was found. The mother and daughter still hadnt been found. It was heart breaking and terrifying. Last night, the truth came out. The mother faked the whole thing. She borrowed a license from a former coworker. The mother took the daughter down to Disney World. She had withdrawn $12,000 in the past week from the bank. The mother is in custody. The daughter will be returned to her father. The mother is being charged with 2 misdemeanors. They are also investigating if the mother stole money from the law firm she worked for and a nonprofit that she was a director for. This whole thing makes me outraged! How could someone do that? Amber Alerts are a very important way of helping people in a serious situation. I still remember the license plate number, just in case I saw the car! What was that mother thinking? Did she really think she wouldnt be caught? Had you heard about this situation?
