What more should be done to help prevent rising suicide rates in the military?

I am listening to the news, and concerned to hear of the rise in suicide among the military. It is being examined to find measures to further address and prevent it in the US. What measures do you think might help lower the raising rates of suicide among our soldiers?
Thank you for any insight you may have to offer.

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji,
As an experienced house wife of retired soldier, I wish to say that higher ranks have
to maintain cordial relations and join them at all occasions like family. Youngsters
starve of 'family-sickness', there is hardly anyone to listen to them.
May God bless You and have a great time.

I also believe proper counseling is needed, and perhaps shorter tours of duty. It is a sad situation. Thank you so much for your input.
