I am so very happy!! I am very low on money right now as I had to pay some bills and it is about a week until my husband gets paid again. I went to the gas station today with $5.00 to get some gas. As you all know gas prices are very high again so at $2.44 a gallon I got 2 gallons of gas for my $5.00.
Anyways, as I was walking into the store another customer arrived at the door at the same time and he held the door open for me. As I walked in and thanked him for opening and holding the door for me I looked down and saw a folded up piece of money. It was a $20.00 bill!!!
I was so happy. I didn't care, he was holding the door for me and I bent over really quickly, scooped up the money and said "Whoo hoo!! This is my lucky day!!".
I am so glad that I went to this particular gas station and went inside to pay as opposed to paying at the pump! Things do happen for a reason I am always certain of that! That is the most amount of money I have ever found. I am still just thrilled.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Wow good for you! and I hope ya put it in gas!
Most I ever found was a $100 bill outside the light co.
It has rained and was jumping a puddle when I say something green went back and picked it up yeah $100 dont know if I got to keep it or not think I gave it to my dad.
WHat would a kid do with that much money in the very small small town I lived in then.

Hey schulzie! You must be so happy and feel so lucky! I never find
money, but my boyfriend always does! He found a $100 bill on the
floor of the deli! He found it just the way you did! He is so
lucky! He is always finding money wherever he goes! He is always
looking down at the ground and finds bills, not coins but bills
and I don't mean dollars! I always say that I wish it was me
finding them! But, I am so happy that you found that $20 and
I believe that you were meant to find it too!

Yes, I really think that I was meant to find that money too. I can't believe that your boyfriend is consistently finding money. I think that is just fabulous that he finds all that money. I am always looking on the ground too but I usually only find pennies with the occasional nickels or quarters.
Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!

It has been awhile since I found a $20 bill that was mine to keep..I was only 8 and my parents took it and done laundry. But recently a few days ago, I was at the store and a man went to put his money in his pocket at the checkout and his money didn't go in his pocket. it feel to the floor and he walked away. I picked it up and seen that it was a twenty and hollered for the man and told him he dropped it. He looked at me strange and took the money..I guess I must have shocked him by giving it back. Now if the money was laying there and I hadn't seen it fall out of him pocket I would have been keeping it. But I try to be honest and if I see someone drop something I will surely give it back.

Yes, I am the same way. If someone dropped some money or left it behind and I saw it then I would chase after them or try to get it back to them. But if it was just sitting there like how I found it then of course I would take it. Who could prove it was theirs? It's not like you have the serial number memorized or anything.

Good for you! My son found a ten once in a gas station...he was just thrilled...he also found a bag of money once....we turned it into the police and they called to tell us that someone claimed it....but they never gave him a cent of it and never even said thank you....

Well now I think that that is just plain rude that the people who lost that bag of money never even said thank you to your son or even offered even a pitiful reward for turning it in.
I would have thought that they would at the very least have said thank you for him turning it in.

Congratulations! I remember finding money under one of the tables of the restaurant I was eating at with my friends. I thought it was a $1 bill, but it turned out to be a $100 bill. :) I turned it in to the cashier, though, because someone might come back to claim it, and was told that if someone hadn't claimed it after two weeks, then the money was mine. Sure enough, no one claimed it, and I had a few dollars more in my pocket.

Wow! That was nice of you to turn that in. I think it is even more admirable that the restaurant returned the money to you. It would have been so easy for the manager or another employee to have kept it.
I am glad that you were the one that got to keep the money since you are the one who found it.

wow... i am sooo happy for you... we are like that here sometimes, when we dont have nay more left in our pockets... thinking of food, milk, we most of the time find money lying on the ground... we do wait for some time if somebody will look for it, or we search for persons that seems like looking for something... the last time my husband found 500 pesos, its a whole lot here about $20 too, it was on my baby's first birthday and we really dont have money that time. we consider it a blessing... yes we think of the person who lost it, but none came back looking for it, and we think God has it there for us at the right as a blessing. there have been many times it happened to us.

I love finding money on the ground. $20 may not sound like a lot but it definitely does help whenever you're not doing so well financially. It can pay for gas, a few really great healthy meals and several other things if you can budget nicely. What a great find you had!

i believe like you Biman, it is not my money, and what about the person that lost it, they may have been in as bad a shape as you was, so I will give to someone that I feel needs it or better yet take it to the police station or inside and ask them if anyone said they lost some money then to contact me.
If it had been you that lost your $5.00 then you would of been in a bind, I know god is watching me to see if I do the right thing, sorry couldn't been so proud to take from someone else. Could of been dropped by the richest person in the area, or maybe by someone that was as bad off as you.

There's NO way of finding out if it belonged to someone in the store, I know, so look upon this as God's telling you to perk up and He's looking out for you!
Isn't it pitiful? It used to be only teens who went to the station with a couple bucks for gas--now it's adults with families barely making ends meet. There are some bright spots, though, like your blessing today!

AWESOME!!! I thought I was lucky finding a quarter in the parking lot of the grocery store a few days ago. Usually, it's just pennies you find on the ground. But you win! That's just awesome!
I found a $10.00 bill once inside the grocery store on the floor and thought that was a windfall but $20.00 sure beats that! Well, actually, now that I think about it, $10.00 back when I found it is probably worth the same as $20.00 today, but still, that's some really GREAT luck!!!
Somebody told me, after I had mentioned finding $10.00, that I should have turned it in to the manager at the store but who's to say the manager would actually acknowledge that anyone had turned in cash? I'd rather that money being in MY pocket than his! Obviously, if I had seen someone dropping it, I would have tried to make sure they got it back because they just may have needed it more than I did, but I didn't see who dropped it.
So, whatcha gonna do with all that money?

Oh, I know! There is no way to know who dropped the money unless you saw them drop it. Anyone could say that they had dropped the money and who would know if it was really them that dropped it?
Oh, and I bought some groceries with the $20.00.
Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!

Wao!! You must feel very lucky. I too found money lying on the ground. It was a $20 and $10. I never pick up money lying on the ground and if I do pick it up then I to the nearest begger or poor person or a temple and donate the money there. I dont use it for myself because I believe in earning my own money, and after all just think about the person who lost that money.

Well, I don't usually have that luxury to be able to give to the nearest beggar, etc. Just like today - my husband got paid on Friday and today is Sunday. After we paid the rent we have only $60.00 until next payday which is 2 weeks away from now. I am trying to look for aluminum cans to turn in for cash. I am also trying to put some things up on eBay that my kids have outgrown so that I can get some money for groceries for us. You never know how much the next person needs money. I am just thankful that I found that money. I used it when I did not have grocery money.
When I have been better off then I have donated money to church and given money to homeless people on the street.

I'm so happy that you were so lucky to find that money. I just wanted to know though did you wonder at all about the person who lost it? Thats what I think when I find money I think about the person who lost it. I will be happy especially if I was low on money but I still think about, if it was there last 5, 10 or 20. I always feel bad about that part of it.

Yes, I know it is horrible that someone lost that money. I have lost money before too. I think it all works out in the end though. I mean if I didn't pick up the $20 bill then someone else would have picked it up.

Yes that is very good! I am always on the lookout for money lying around, but it seems that many people are very careful with where they put money, so I don't see much money around. Good luck. Hope you find other things that make you happy. It is also a very positive thing because you have also started a discussion on your luck and making more money from your posts

Thats great I wish I had that luck. I don't know why but there has been negative things happening to me one after another. And it might be for a reason but I wish I knew a way to stop it or even better to change it so it could be possitive things. Enjoy your luck and many other nice things will happen. Happy myLotting

I found a wad of 100s in a clip at my apartment when I lived in Utah . The guy up stairs always had a clip like that so I went upstairs and aked him if he had lost something . I showed him the clip fll of money and he thanked me over and over again . Then that night he bought me flowers and a card and in the card was a $100 bill thanking me for being so honest .

That man was very lucky that you were so honest and that you went and told him and returned it to him. That is wonderful that you did that. Lucky for him also that it was in a clip that you recognized. How else would you have ever known who it belonged to?
I am also glad that he gave you $100 and some flowers and a card as a thank you for returning it to him. That was good of you to do that and it is nice that he thanked you for doing this.
