I had trouble ettign a job after a break which i had to take due to my pregnancy. I think you should first of all have a very good resume; if you feel that your resume lacks somethign get a professional help. Then get yourself updated in the field you are good at and the field where you are looking for the right job! Next try to develop contacts and give a copy of your updated resume to your friends who are into the field.
And recession is a BIG excuse ppl have to offer, so be flexible in what you are about to demand (CTC) and you may have to wait for the right time for the market to recover. Till then you can do freelancing and add that into your working experience too :) I hope this is of some help to you.

Its the troubling times there just inst anyone willing to hire since people are not willing to spend. Thus less jobs out there for people who are currently unemployed. I'm currently waiting 3 more months till i can re enlist to the us army and for over 9 months i havent been able to find a job out here in society.

I had like 3 jobs and I wasn't choosy before..But then, I sooo not want to go back in the same field and currently looking for something that will help me learn more and improve myself better. Uhm..problem is, the crisis year and it's really tough to find a new one. (sigh*) I sent a resume already and called the employment hotline but still I got nothing. They even didn't send me any response yet and I'm still waiting =(.

Yes even I find it hard to find a good job. Actually as you mentioned I am very choosy too, I look and want everything tobe perfect in the first place. I want the location, package, people tobe just perfect, which actually is not possible because you have to sacrifice on something. Ultimately you have to choose something even if you don't like it much.

I have a terrible time trying to find a job. I have just 4 months experience of customer service, and no one will hire me because of that and my being just out of high school, I guess.

Are you working now? I mean beside earning online. For me, it is not very hard to find a job, yes may be because someone overly choosy. Finding a job is like finding a woman to marry, you must find the most fit for you but also you mustn't overly choosy. Right after I graduated from college I've find a job as a contractor, not very long I'm quitting those job, after that I'm jobless for almost 9 months, and finding a new job as a consultant. Still feel not enough I'm searching a new job, finally I found one that really fit to me right now, and I really like my job today.

I don't have any troubles finding a job as I know my best qualities and weaknesses. I am not a college graduate but I can get a call center job very easy as I have very good communication skills either verbal or written. When I have resigned from my first call center job, I got another job in a call center after 3 days and I only applied in two call center companies. I am a flexible person and a fast learner, I can even work on my own so I don't really need much supervision. I think those are the things that my employers like with me. You shouldn't be choosy in finding a job, you can't really succeed if your attitude is always like that. There are many college graduates whom are unemployed and can't get a job, its because they are choosy in finding a job.

Hello laydee. I don't have much trouble find a new job. Years back when I made a decision to move from my first working site to another, I made a call to ask if there was a vacancy for me and I was asked to go and have an interview and was a success. After three years' working, I decided to move on and made another call and luckily enough I got this job as well. But for some reason my previous boss managed to keep me without wanting me to leave. So I have only moved to work for one time actually. Now if I want to find a job, I think that it is not that difficult for me as I am experienced.

I have been looking for a job since January. I have filled out way too many applications to count. I don't think that there is anywhere left around here that I haven't applied to. They called me back and interviewed me, only to hire someone else. I know that there is nothing wrong with me, but there are too many people who need jobs right now. There is always someone to apply who is more qualified than me. And then there is the fact that when they ask me if I have children I tell them. It shouldn't matter that I am a mother of 4. But it does. They are scared that my children will come before the job. Well, duh. If they are sick, I am staying home. I think that I will stop telling them that I have kids. But if I lie, then they could fire me when they find out. And it's not right to lie, anyway. I really don't know if it is legal for them to ask me that or not. I'll have to look into that. Good luck with the job hunt!

It is a bad time and looking for a job is quite difficult. I would suggest that you lower your expectation and at least get a job so you go out to work everyday with certain income. It may be low but at least it can support your living and more importantly, keep you in the working state. If we don't continue working, we will forget how it feels like working and when the economy is good again, we need time to pick up and that is going to be a big disadvantage for us.
