College & parents; I'm so lost.

So I'm hoping to start college this Fall.
I've taken a year off not knowing what to do, and the whole time my mom has been yelling at me "do something! do something! if you don't go to college, you'll have to work at McDonald's for your whole life!"
I haven't been able to find a job, and I have close to no money.
I live in Idaho, but I'm planning on going to college [if I go at all] near Los Angeles, because that's where I grew up and want to be.
I told my mom I applied for some colleges there, and then she was like "Well, you have no money you have no way to get there. You can't go." And then she went on and on about how hard it was for her to go to college because she came from another country. All of a sudden it felt like she was being totally hippocritic.
I know there's student financial aid and stuff out there, but will they give me a loan if I have no job? and what about where I'm going to live?
I literally have nothing- no money, no friends, no support where I live right now, and I'm dying to get out. I don't know how to do it.
If you know any resources I can check out? Or do have any suggestions of how to come up with money fast [and morally]?
Please share, and thankyou in advance.

Companies like Sallie Mae that only deal with student loans will give you money - regardless if you have a job because you are in college. You may be able to get a loan through Chase or a another bank without a job. I know they offer private student loans and will give you a lot more money. Not sure how their interest rates compares to sallie mae though.

don't let your mother put all your hopes down.. Have a part time job... some teenagers are shy about having jobs while studying, but for me, I'll be proud if my son or daughter will be like that.. it shows independence and intelligence..
Money is not a hindrance to success.. Just open your mind and also try to find more available jobs that you think you can..
